I actually enjoyed Cell quite a bit, but I think I’m in the far minority on that one. It was the first of the “new” Stephen King books I read after a weird and unintentional reading hiatus many years ago.

Agreed on both points about Gerald’s Game. I thought it would be a great little semi-horror flick, but with so many dreams and memories going on inside her head rather than in front of her, it couldn’t have the same feel.

We have a mortician who posts here, but I can’t recall which poster it is. He’s very funny and personable. In truth, I worked with pathologists rather than morticians and they were absolutely social rejects with oddball personalities. I could understand why they chose pathology instead of another practice because

And her hair.  Seriously.

Honestly, I think that’s our only way out at this point.  I’m all in.

You can share some of mine and say they are yours! :) They are both a little squicky, tho, so be forewarned.

As others have mentioned, both Firestarter and The Dark Half were films, but neither were that memorable. Desperation was also adapted, and was possibly the worst of the three. It didn’t translate as well as I thought it might for such a scary novel.

I did see that link that a few people posted in this thread.  Reading Maise’s thoughts on it helped me remember she is an actress doing a job and they were very sensitive to what she was and was not comfortable with.

It isn’t a similar situation, in that I hadn’t watched Emilia Clarke age from 11 to 22; that was the kicker for me. It didn’t ruin the episode and I wasn’t overly bothered even during the scene, but it struck both of us in a way that we laughed at our own discomfort.

Yikes. I had assumed wrong. I’m so uncomfortable with that being her real body. Even though she’s my favorite murder child and I’ve long wanted her and Gendry to end up together, I do still see her as a child. I guess I can stay thankful they did some kind of shading to hide her nipples.

I echo your thoughts on Arya & Gendry. As a hard ‘shipper for them, I was happy they had their moment, but as soon as the actress started taking off her top, I was like, no! We’ve seen her as a child and this is not ok!

That’s a THING right there.

He’s very thoughtful and pragmatic when it comes to his decision making, but yes, if any character threatens stability of the realm, he’ll cut them off at the knees.

I agree completely. I’m a fan of the character and honestly don’t feel he’s given any reason to question his motivations, especially in the books where he compromised himself to help others on more than one occasion.

HA! If you can get here, absolutely! :) I think if I were in a state without it, I’d map out a road trip to cross the border into a state with legal recreational.

I feel for you and it does sound completely backwards. All I can offer is our rollout was also less than smooth with very few locations right out of the gate. The medical dispensaries, which were everywhere, weren’t allowed to also sell recreational, although they may be now? Maybe the medical dispensaries just aren’t

Maybe the stand-up wipers (may God have mercy on their souls) have no flexibility and can’t conceive of reaching around rather than in between the legs and into the toilet to get the job done?

How long has it been legal in MA? I’m in WA and we are now paying $24 (happy hour pricing) for an eighth of the tastiest and dankest weed I’ve ever smoked.  It’s taken a while for the prices to stabilize, and I only buy during happy hour (after 7pm and all day Sunday), but we’ve come a very long way from $15 -$25

When my boyfriend and I first started dating, he had a tightly clipped and well maintained beard, which I was happy with. Over the years, it has grown into a full lumberjack beard that goes down to his chest and I’m happy with that, too. He used to say he’d never shave, but now he says he may shave it off and I am
