Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, even with the subpar acting!

You’ve pinpointed the defining reason why I love his writing so much. Never going so far as to make them corny or overwrought, he presents his monsters as romantic heroes. It sounds corny even to type, but he pulls it off with ease. 

I completely agree! The scene where she breaks him out of jail is one of my favorites and the ending IS downright romantic.

I’ve read Imajica. I loved it, although I loved Weaveworld even more.

Maybe it was my age when I watched it or my deep love of Cabal, but I liked Nightbreed. The acting was kind of terrible, especially Lori, the girlfriend, but the monsters were fun.

She meant to say that she and her trash husband, Sean Duffy, were discussing it over breakfast and came to that conclusion.

It may not be showing strength, but these people weren’t trying to show him strength. It seems they were expressing their thoughts on his shitty policies, as every person in this country has the right to do.  Unfortunately, most of us don’t have any kind of access to express ourselves within his earshot.

Thank you for that tip! I’ve spent a week camping just outside of Jasper proper and more time in the area would be an added bonus. I’ve heard a few times now that the Cassiar isn’t much to see; as long as I’ll still be able to hit Whitehorse, I’d be happy.

I live in WA state and driving through Canada to Alaska is one of my bucket list items.  Some day...

MOD Pizza is the real deal and they must treat their employees very well, as the one near my work is chock full of smiling and friendly people who seem to be having fun while they work. I’ve never had an experience there where everyone was less than sincerely cheerful.

Now I want to drive through the Yukon Territory in the middle of the night and find this mystery place.
