We’ve entered the “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature!” stage of blockbuster filmmaking. Awesome.

Paparazzi such as, for example, Bo (Zazie Beetz), a woman who just wants to snap that $30,000 photo of Mazey so she can make her goddamn rent and get her obnoxious flatmate off her case for the first time in forever.

The story resolution was only a disappointment if you weren’t paying attention to the narrative that was laid out in front of it and instead expected the show to pay off your own personal expectations/headcanon narrative. A lot like Lost.

It takes a special kind of square to manage having a very, very successful career in entertainment/comedy and yet still be compelled to “NUH-UH” your friend’s goofy story about smoking weed and spending money. “I would NEVER do those things! I am a RESPONSIBLE boy, fiscally and otherwise!”

I’d like to thank The Idol for giving TV critics everywhere a chance to bare their fangs and just go wild. The narrative being pushed is that the LGBTQ community is a homogenous mass of pedophile groomers who want to “induct” children into their “lifestyle.”
