Don’t be so optimistic. As Rick Wilson put it, DC is littered with the bodies of people who underestimated Mitch McTurtleface, and the ACA’s existence is a continuing humiliation for him (because he is a reactionary piece of shit, and a Black man passing socialized medicine while having the nerve to be president fills

At least now I don’t feel bad about not being too tore up over his having brain cancer.

It’s so crucial, I think, among all of these BS versions of these various bills, including the Frankenstein’s Monster one that just failed, to keep our eyes on the bigger picture: No matter what the bill’s provisions ultimately become, we know it will throw between 16 and 30 million off of their insurance, and jack

I remember seeing a post months ago titled something like “I don’t want to hear another damn thing about John McCain until he actually does something.”

It’s like every time I hear about him I have to remind myself that he served his country and endured a great deal of hardship . . . because I’ve seen him display nothing but disgusting spineless behavior ever since he hugged GW Bush. It’s depressing. I’d like to respect the President of the United States, and I

First we blame the obstructionist Democrats, then blame the Republicans who “betrayed” their own party, then blame Obama for creating the mess, then blame the DISHONEST MEDIA for not reporting about the millions of people who die of Obamacare every day, then blame Clinton for something.

McCain’s big on talking the “I’m a maverick” talk, but he always shows what he really is when it comes time to vote (or time to choose a running mate who could become the president of the country): a lying hypocrite who does not give the slightest damn about who will suffer because of his selfish, craven decisions.

The Senate has specific rules on how votes are done and since this is being done under Reconciliation instead of an open vote, it cannot add to the deficit in any way or that would result in needing a 60 vote threshold. The House is majority rules, the Senate is supposed to be where the lengthy discussion is had.

McCain voted for the BCRA, despite pledging a few hours earlier that he would not.

McCain’s facebook page is a veritable screed of thousands of people cursing at him, with a few benighted souls (trolls?) defending him as “just voting to debate the bill”.

What I’m going to say next is not meant as snark, it is my honest opinion: If I suffered from a brain tumor, I would refrain from making life-or-death decisions for other people.

I’m so done with McCain’s shit. He hems and haws and does all this grandstanding, and then votes exactly as you would expect him to despite his protestations. Fuck him.

McCain played Maverick for the cameras then voted right down party lines?

No surprise from McCain.

Without medicare my mother would have died a lot sooner from cancer, but brain cancer finally took her. I saw the pain and suffering she went through and I never wished that on anyone not even my worst enemies, but ladies and gents today is a different day, all those GOP senators that voted yes, I hope they get cancer

Exactly. This is exactly why I get so tired of seeing people cheer him. He can say whatever the fuck he wants but until he VOTES in a manner that backs that up, he will not have my trust or my cheers. (Other than getting healthy, I’ll cheer him on for that.)

Fuck these assholes. I’m having a bone-marrow biopsy next month. Not only do I have to sit around worrying about whether I have cancer, or how much it’s going to hurt when they jam a needle into my hip bone, I also have to worry about what these fuckers are doing to our healthcare system. If this repeal goes through

When was the last time McCain stood for anything? He has said some reasonable stuff against the Republican agenda since Trump was elected, but then he just goes and votes for it anyway. He’s all talk. It’s sad because he talks like the only reasonable Republican with half a brain left, but he never actually opposes

I the irony of McCain, a man who has been eligible for tax-payer funded healthcare his entire adult life (through the military, VA, and Congress) limping back to Washington (pre-existing conditions and all) to kill this bill is just overwhelming.

In an email to me this morning, my mom wrote “You know, I felt bad for McCain last week, but to leave his sick bed in order to take away other people’s health insurance? FUCK HIM.”
