He’s a true sociopath. He lies about things he doesn’t have to lie about. He could have kept spinning out the nonsense that Hillary Clinton controls the debate schedule and his dim-witted followers would have believed him. Why add on a statement that could be so easily checked? By the way, I really, truly wish Hillary

And yet people fucking hate Hillary with a weird level of earnest, regardless of how thin the reason given.

I am seeing that as well and they are not sitting out here in real America. That speech reached out to every person watching. It was not the soaring oratory that we have heard from men like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. It was the conversational style of a woman who is talking to us not at us. And talk to us she did.

I mean, they’re right, but his oratory skills are special. Extraordinary. Comparing her oratory skills to Bush or McCain or Romney would be a more fair comparison.

I think it was her second-best speech ever, just behind her 2008 concession speech to then-Senator Obama. But she totally, and effectively, laid out the case for her, the Democratic party, liberals, progressives, centrists, Republicans, Independents, and any sane person to vote for her.

Watching CNN and PBS. Commentators are saying it was not the greatest speech, but she hit a few stong points that were memorable like attackingTrump’s temperament and his claim last week that he “alone can fix America.” They are basically saying she is no Obama in terms of his soaring rhetoric.

I am so happy. And so excited. That was phenomenal.

I honestly don’t think they give a shit about the platform.

So tell me, what does that look like? Do we just pull out of the Middle East and ignore the consequences of the Iraq invasion and let ISIS continue killing innocent Syrians? Do we let Russia invade the rest of the Ukraine unchecked? If one of our allies is attacked, do we just ignore them? If a genocide is going on,

It started to drown out the people shouting no more war at the Medal of Honor recipient ( born to French immigrant parents) that lost his leg to an ied protecting his fellow soldiers, so cool by me.

Article on Politico interviewed some Bernie supporters and that’s exactly what some of them want—Hillary to step down. I understand that they are disappointed and frustrated to the point of anger, but how unrealistic can they be? It’s frustrating to watch.

Ugh, yes. There’s a big difference between being anti-war and being anti-military personnel. Our military also assists with NATO, aid, and disaster recovery.

Perhaps it makes me a “war hawk,” but I believe in my heart of hearts there ARE things worth going to war for; there are causes worth putting the soul of our

I am so, so on edge about the shenanigans the small minority of Sanders-diehards are going to pull (sounds like it’s mostly been the CA delegates acting up?) I get the protests, I get the hurt feelings, but that they would cause a scene during a nominee’s convention speech, when the person *they claim they wanted to

The people chanting “No more war” at every military person are real assholes. First, it’s isolationist bullshit. Remember who said “Peace For Our Time”. Second, blanket yelling “No More War” at everyone with a military connection is anti-military bullshit. My dad did his 20 years, but also protested the Iraq war.

As a daughter of immigrants, I am literally flooded with tears after the speech given by the father of the slain Muslim soldier. I am a staunch Independent, but this convention has convinced me to switch to the Democratic Party. If they continue to follow the principles that I see here, they will have my lifelong

I’m really hoping you guys skip the snark tonight. This is not only a singular, seminal moment, but this woman is trying her level best to beat a fucking fascist. The gravity, the significance, of this night means something — to women, to people of color, to every religion and nation and more that tomorrow Donald

I was a public school kid (and CCD on Tuesday nights at my parish), but I went to a Catholic women’s college and a Jesuit law school, so there’s still hope for a Jesuit education for your kids!

Yes! Whenever somebody asks how I can be Catholic and a Democrat, I go back to my Jesuit taught motto: men and women for others. You can’t find any Republican policy or platform that helps to live out that statement. And Tim Kaine seems like he’s a perfect example

Nailed it. I’m not religious anymore, but I come from a super-Catholic background. My family is liberal, politically engaged, and largely Jesuit educated — my grounding in social justice (including reproductive rights and marriage equality) largely came out of that context. It’s really hard to explain to people who
