Was going to be my exact comment. Writes for a CAR BLOG but says “forget all the gorgeous historic cars in a Jalop heaven and let me play golf instead.”

Raph and Erik don’t know much of anything really.

What kind of Jalop question is this?

Talk about a 5th gear.

Have you driven one? I remember years ago driving my cousin’s BRZ and I had the same opinion until I drove it.

we should probably crush every car made before the mid-’80s

“Get these amazingly crafted moving works of art out of there so that we can play an old rich person sport”

As someone who worked in the rV industry for a long time I can say that pop-ups are ND at any price. The canvas parts are expensive to replace and the lift cables are a HUGE PITA to replace. Nope. Never. No way. ND

It’s not a direct 1:1 but if your brain can’t process the parallels then that’s on your parents and the schools you attended.

Let’s say you make a mistake and don’t do something for your job. It’s something that you routinely do all the time, but neglect to do one time. Weeks later, someone at work calls you out for not doing that thing. And work tells you that you’re not allowed to work for six months.

Now think about that and tell me if

Yea, my thought exactly. They #1 selling vehicle in the country is about to be offered as an electric model, in its most popular configuration, at a price that is extremely competitive with its gas counterpart. But the sky is falling and nobody is serious about EV’s and blah blah.

The cheapest gas in my town is $4.26 for 87 octane unleaded. I generate electricity for the equivalent of 15c/kwh (pay-what-you-use lease model).

I don’t really care about how far it can go in a “daily drive”. I’m not going more than a relative handful of miles daily, then parking it in my garage to charge presumably. I want to know how far the thing will reasonably go at 80mph on the highway, because THAT is the number that really counts when you are trying to

You don’t have to love highways in order to love cars.

GM LS-series.

Raph, why don’t you quit your job? It is obvious to a casual observer that you actually hate cars.
2nd gear: Highways are where we drive cars. We are car enthusiasts. We like better roads that don’t beat the shit out of our cars.
4th gear: If you have a problem with raking in huge chunks of cash from ICE vehicles, then

Ever seen an old movie where there are elevator operators? All those poor people lost their jobs when they invented buttons to push. Then there are the shoe-shine people in the same movies. Once we invented not giving a crap about shiny shoes, those people lost their jobs too.

1st Gear: Mrs. Ghost and I are both pretty much constantly getting mailers, emails, and phone calls from dealerships trying to buy our cars.

Why, exactly, did Americans buy so many of these, and for so long a time?”
