Honda has been working with GM for YEARS.  This was a natural progression of that relationship.

None of this really matters unless you are an automaker CEO or shareholder but in the vein of nature is healing, nature is healing.

Because the people who read this site aren’t who driverless cars are for - they are for the people who get literally 0 pleasure from driving, view it as a chore, view cars as appliances, and would never drive again if they were able. That’s exactly who I want a computer driving for. I wouldn’t want a person who didn’t

Raise your hand if you are of a certain age and you’ve gotten a call from your parents/grandparents/C-Suite boss asking you to do something simple like, turn a Word doc into a PDF, or reset their WiFi password, or update their iPhone, all things easily Googled. 1..2..3...okay that’s everyone in the crowd, then.

I dunno, it looks like a BMW X6 with the hatch open.

Yeah, that’s about how long it took most Alliances to implode...

To save some people some effort:

I think vehicle taxation should simply be by mile driven, adjusted by weight.

Or an even wilder thought - tax the hell out of the rich who made their fortunes on the backs of literally everyone below them.

1,500, not 15,000.  can’t edit the post now.

quart of oil every 15,000 miles

This is kind of why I feel like a plug-in hybrid (with decent electric range) is the best current day option for a lot of people. They can operate on full electric for daily commuting, but when they do need to drive 400+ miles for whatever reason they can still just hop in and go.

Or you could just, like, rent a car when you need it?  Create a “rental escrow” bank account and throw $50 a month into it?

The fuel pumps at most of my local filling stations have been changed out at least twice in the last 10 years, so what is your point?

The IIHS should also add vehicles to this list which do not have an automated headlights on feature. Following a car with no tail-lights is troubling, especially on unlit roadways. Cannot count how many times I’ve driven behind someone who thinks their headlights are on because the DRL’s are illuminating the road

“Maintaining the status quo” isn’t good government when the status quo fucking sucks, which it does. Our roads and bridges are falling apart, our climate is being disrupted, we’ve got truckers beached on the side of the highway because they’ll get slapped with fines if their datalogger says they’ve gone one minute

Fun fact: no US VW dealer will ever stock that beautiful red color.

Have you read Erik before?  He’s pretty universally known for terrible takes.

the only thing I am one hundred percent sure of is that the Volkswagen ID.4 will be a complete flop in the US.
