Visually, it’s nowhere near as interesting either. Setting it in the dilapidated, gothic, swampy Lousiana gave the first season a dread inducing visual texture that LA just can’t create. That's a tough one but I'm going with Guillermo del Toro. From his early films Cronos and Mimic through Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth (my favorite) to his recent big budget Pacific Rim, he's show a lot of versatility with an underlying focus on wonderful visuals.
