I’ve played a lot of RPGs, so it’s rare for one to surprise me and simultaneously make me feel a closer bond to the characters. Ys VIII achieved all of that and more.” Same situation for me. I honestly picked it up because I wanted a good action RPG and never tried Ys.

One of my favorite writers on this site in a long time, tbh. Thanks for all the work you’ve put in.

Oh shi, didn’t realize Ys IX had a release date in the west.

Loving all the asymmetric designs. Can’t get away with a lot of these due to legal reasons today but hot damn some look cool.

Because most of us who play with inverted Y-Axis are actually fighter pilots and helicopter pilots. Simple as that.

Man I loved that game. Inertial Drift, that just came out, has a game mode called Duel that kind of works similar to how TXR did. No collision with other cars but same life bar/distance sort of tug-o-war.

That description describes how I felt about Inquisition. Not even trying to hate, I love DA, but DA:I was extremely dry to me and often times didn’t even -feel- like DA to me in terms of atmosphere. While the lore and story, and exploration fell short, I even liked DA2 way more. It was fun to me throughout even on

Willing to bet they add this. Too many have mentioned or asked for it. Would also love the ability to favorite/star certain items to have them filter-able.

That’s very true, didn’t consider that it could have been post-gold work.

Yeah, why, after like 20 + hours of gameplay do we still receive that prompt and ultimately force us to switch stance at that point? I assumed I could turn this off but I guess not?

Curious why these weren’t in at launch. That seems too quick of a turnaround to have began work on them post-launch. Excited to try this “Lethal” out as game difficulty is one of my biggest complaints. Not even trying to sound cool but the game shouldn’t still feel “easy” while set on Hard.

Thanks for the writeup!

Can we get Playstation to update this as well? Thanks.

If they can deliver on those visuals... I’ll buy this twice over.

Haha noted, thanks you two. I’ll shun him for designing a penis sword but will also be secretly proud of him, too.

Perfect, thanks a ton!

Is there anything you’d consider ‘mature’ or too violent for a young kid? Considering letting my son (almost 6) try this out to get a feel for this type of 2D sidescroller. Looks way fun.

Me coming into this “Yeah but is it like the other superficial advice articles where they clearly reviewed it but didn’t dive that deep into it to really offer super credible advice?”

Me reading the beginning of this which states I’ve unlocked every skill, upgraded every set of armor, and fully improved every weapon.”

Love the concept art and am absolutely blown away at how it translated in-game. Game is entirely too gorgeous.

Hope for my future! (This is great)

Yeah, fairly certain all racing footage was basically replay footage of gameplay.
