Same. Reminds me of a Mirror’s Edge modern building of sorts. I admire the risk they took with this. Paid off for me.

Damn it Mr. Fahey, my JRPG backlog is already fierce. I’m currently playing Ys: VIII, nearing the end. It’s my first Ys and it really caught me off guard, I’m loving it. This looks just as fun, too. Thanks for the write-up and the heads up.

I’ll approve it one second.

It’s just the date of the first wave of DLC.

This might be my biggest gripe oddly enough. At LEAST let us remove all UI elements for the time being.

Tough to see at that angle, is there a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom still? Or is that just the built in mic slot?

That’s my biggest question. My wife does OK with 2D games but is really intimidated by 3D controls. Hearing your comment about only needing one person with decent aiming skills being enough to get by makes me more curious about this.

I love this thread. Thank you for all of this work and thought that went into it!

I agree with all of this but I would argue the game -can- be extremely grindy. To get through the main story, little to no grind may be required. But if you want to go for a specific, l33t build with ph4t l00t or max out a skill tree, it’s going to take some grinding.

To me it’s a great balance. For the player who just

At least we have “Spring 2020" now lol.

Same. And had to do a double take when Spotify recommend a new song from them. I instantly liked how familiar it felt compared to their older stuff.

I thought my hype and curiosity for Grid was gone until reading this... Your review speaks to me... sigh, thought my backlog was getting in-check.

I felt 2019 was a great year for games and I feel we will talk about a few of them many years from now ; - ; Two in particular will definitely stick out to me for probably the rest of my life (And I’ve been playing games for 30 years to date).

“But damned if Death Stranding isn’t something special.” Exactly my line when I think about the game. I’d go as far as saying the game is outright important. I too had my gripes for sure but basically consider the game to be magical after having beat it.

Definitely agree with a lot of these on here. I’m going to throw in Ace Combat 7 to the list. I know it’s more recent with having come out in 2019 but the lack of any nominations for it this year is kind of confusing me. At LEAST a head nod to the music or something, damn.

As someone who has always worried about their K/D, I was almost with you until the pistol comment. They are so weak in this game ; - ;

It’s particularly frustrating because I feel they got the tougher stuff extremely right, and the usual stuff that the previous iterations tend to get right, wrong. The gun feel and leveling system is a-mazing. My favorite of any CoD and I’ve played all but two (Ghost and Advanced). I think by and large the maps are

Really interesting read, thank you for this. But not ONE mention of Real Genius?? I see some commentators saved the day. Good job everyone.

Hello Mr. Rogers. Thank you for this write-up and video. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to watch it with sound (Guessing that may have been slightly important). Could you chime in on the game’s soundtrack/music at all? I find a lot of times what -really- makes a racing game that much more special is a good soundtrack.

If they can take this even further and just have it play for me I won’t EVER notice any delay in the input delay or lag. I could play on any display too! Man, fingers crossed!
