Nobody implied this had anything to do with the US (Ubisoft isn’t even a US company), but regardless, you are comparing apples to orange in the most wildly uniformed manner possible.

I’ve been in software development for 20 years (including some time in the game industry), and game crunch does not even compare to other

It wasn’t out of place, because it’s something the reviewer thought about when they were playing the game... It’s literally the only requirement for what should appear in a personal review.

Hah, uhh.... you can launch off a hill going 200 mph, sail through the air for 6 seconds and drop 600 feet onto pavement (in a 40 year old Lamborghini Countach) and then keep right on going... It’s not a driving simulator, it’s a (really, really) fun video game.

That’s too funny, because that’s precisely what I love about it... I don’t play driving games to memorize tracks and shave a fraction of a second off my time by perfecting the exact driving line the dev’s intended. I want to go balls-out down a road, be surprised by every race, every time, and have to react on the fly

Forza Horizon straddles the line between arcade and sim... It’s not Forza Motorsports real, but it is most definitely not a straight arcade racer or goofy driving abomination like GTA. You can adjust the play style to just how real you want it, but they kind of need to keep the sim level to a manageable amount due to

I’m not debating that for a second, but there’s a world of difference between acknowledging that iPhones are made with slave labor, and demanding every “overpaid” CEO of a US company shares their salaries with the entry-level guy refilling the water cooler... simply because “you’ve” decided he doesn’t need all that

You’re painting with awful broad brushes there... Do you have any statistics that show the majority of business owners in this country started out rich? I mean, I don’t have any data to the contrary either... but it seems like a pretty big leap to just say it “most oftenstarted that way.

Anecdotal evidence is

Ehhh... Colossal difference of opinion there to say the least.

I wouldn’t argue that the company I work for doesn’t live and die by our employees, it absolutely does. (The owner couldn’t write a line of code to save his life.) But that is entirely irrelevant in my book...

He is the one that spent all the money and took

Ah, I got you. Yeah, from the perspective of the super-rich, 700k is certainly not in the high-tier by any stretch. Heh, I just mean from my perspective it seems pretty damn wealthy.

I live in NY as well, but I’m in Albany, which obviously has a wildly lower cost of living than where you are. 50k a year here can buy

Hah, no offense, but I hope you’re not from America, because your numbers are massively off... For starters, 700k is most definitely considered wealthy. Hell, unless you’re in Manhattan or San Francisco, anything over the 6 figure range is already comfortable.

It’s easy to say that when we’re looking up at them, but the truth is that the more money you make, the more money you spend. Someone making $500,000 a year is very likely paying out multitudes higher payments than a middle class employee on their mortgage, car payments, property taxes, student loans, their kid’s tuiti

Except they haven’t been increasing in price. At all.

While you could certainly consider add-on content as part of the overall package (and possibly even something “removed” from the base game), at the end of the day that content is still optional, and you still have the ability to buy the game without it.

The truth

No, Sony Pictures only own production and distribution rights to Spidey films, not outright ownership of the IP. Marvel owns the licencing and all merchandising associated with the character, including games.

That said, from everything I’ve read, there is no chance this game goes multi-platform. Insomniac themselves hav

Yeah, you’re right. I was just lazily calling them that anyway, but the point is the same. Nobody makes much profit on new games (same reason Gamestop will cut you for not choosing pre-owned), so it’s crazy they ever offered those discounts to begin with.

The standard profit on new games at retail is around $10, depending on how many they order. I’ve always assumed Best Buy and Amazon must be buying in massive quantities to be able to afford the pre-order discounts in the first place, and even with them, you’re still talking razor-thin margins.

This new model at least

Haha, uh... I’d hope you mean loved it in a “holy crap that guy should be locked up” kind of way, but your chosen name makes that slightly questionable.

Oh, I so got this... I worked for a tech start-up a couple of years back where the boss had a literally satirical level of unawareness for any sense of professionalism or boundaries, often venturing into outright criminal behavior. I am frankly shocked to this day that no lawsuits have ever come out of it. (That I’m

Just a painful reminder that Darwyn is gone.

Oh right, the messaging. I totally forget how much different that is online...

Always seemed kind of pointless to me since you have no idea if it’s lying or not.

I’ve played through all 4 (now 5 with the remaster) souls games entirely offline, specifically because I had no interest in that dynamic, so I’m admittedly wildly ignorant on this topic, but I have to ask...

What would the point to online play be without the invasions? Strictly to get co-op help if you get stuck on a
