I think it’s worthwhile, especially if you like Crowe’s other good movies (Singles, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous). This was very much the beginning of his consistent streak that ended after those films.

It’s interesting how the pop culture memory of the boom box scene forgets that in the movie this gesture doesn’t work (indeed, I’ve seen parodies that seem to regard this not working as a subversion of the original).

If you want to get really cynical, Tony Stark having significant character development and status quo shakeups in his solo series only for all of it to get completely shat on by some other writer who just wants to make a big dumb crossover event, is actually peak Marvel Comics.

I think it’s also a matter of a lot of movie/TV teenagers being played by full-on 23-year-olds. The kid in this movie would have been pretty much the exact same age as her character (or at least, the 13-year-old version) when she was shooting it.

If the concept is finales which had a lot to answer, would include Monk. The early seasons focused a lot on the mystery of who killed Monk’s wife and why. One of the most horrifying parts was how difficult it was for these people to even find a place to sleep. If you couldn’t make it into a crowded work house (where you had to get in line by 2 or 3 pm

The sad truth about the Whitechapel murders is that it was about the only thing that got ‘genteel’ London (and the world) upset about the conditions that people in the East End had been living in for decades. After the murders, many of the worst slums were torn down and replaced by proto-council housing and

I mean, if you can do 100 pushups/situps/squats and a 10k run then you’re already in pretty damn good shape.

or GTFO.

How heroic will that Batman be, beating up on a Joker who is well into his 60s, when he starts fighting crime.

I’m hoping Jizyah Shorts makes it all the way to the end, but somehow I suspect she will finish prematurely.

I will never understand the enthusiasm of the mega-rich for Versailles, which is like opting for a Gatsby-themed wedding reception—doesn’t anybody ever check the Wikipedia summary to see how things worked out?
