I feel like a lot of the shock I’m seeing from Trumpers falls into two camps.

Causing a disruption on a plane is distracting to crew members, who need to be aware of what is going on on the plane, both for passengers’ convenience and in case of an emergency.
Really, Sandra Bland didn’t get any press coverage? Kalief Browder didn’t get any press coverage?
This is exactly what I wanted. Except, how did Larry die?
THIS IS LITERALLY PAY TO PLAY.
If this is the case, I can theorize why it was changed.
When I went to an ansen while visiting Japan, I didn’t even know about the tattoo rule and wasn’t made aware of it until after I left. My friend who I was visiting said “Oh yeah I didn’t even think about that.” No one said anything to me, but it may just have been out of politeness.
Every other character? Okay.
You can absolutely critique them. However, a lot of times it seems as though the critique is just as harsh as it would be to someone who completely and totally doesn’t get it and doesn’t care to learn. I know some people disagree, but life isn’t school...if people are trying, I think they do deserve credit. You can…
Makes me ever so slightly uneasy about Ep VIII and IX, considering Rian Johnson and Colin Treverrow are both more Edwards than Abrams. JJ Abrams knows spectacle first and foremost.
I guess, to me, it’s a sort of “bigger fish to fry” thing. Again, we can definitely point out that this film would have benefited from more prominent women roles, but A) it clearly takes steps in the right direction re: diversity, B) it features a female protagonist in the lead role, and C) acting like it’s not as…
Yeah, pretty much. I think part of this is the choice of director. Gareth Edwards isn’t a bad director, but his style looks weird in the SW universe.
It definitely was, but it was straight out of a fan-film playbook.
I’m not saying there’s not a point to be made, but I think the article’s contention that The Force Awakens had “several” main characters that were women is a bit of an exaggeration...There’s Rey of course, but Leia had probably the same amount of screen time as Mon Mothma did in this film, and then there was...Maz…
You know you’re on Jalopnik, right?
The amount of people trying to “Thanks Obama!” this is ridiculous.
What part of “International waters” is confusing to you?
Bit nitpicky, but there WERE female Rebel pilots in Rogue One. Also, Mon Mothma and other key (unnamed) Rebels.
It was so weird that he got SO much screen time. Like they didn’t need to use him even 1/10th as much as they did. It was really choppy. I feel like this and other CGI “reveals” work great on opening night, but may not hold up over time.
Rogue One feels like the best possible fan film someone could make.
