This game was supposed to come out a YEAR ago. What the hell kind of state would it have been in if that disaster of a gameplay reveal hadn't resulted in the backlash it did?

Weird to see Metzen referred to as a Diablo co-creator since he barely had a hand in that game and is much closer aligned with Warcraft. It was his art and lore that defined the series through Warcraft 3. Thrall, a major lore character, is basically Metzen’s self-insert OC.

One the one hand, you city slickers may be overestimating just how easy it is to pull off a highway and get to somewhere with less traffic, especially with a freak storm that comes in very quickly (as this one did) in Iowa. It’s pretty easy to be on the highway with no exit for several

You know how I can tell you don’t actually care about this post and just needed to throw something up for SEO? You used the phrase “make [the] experience more visceral.” Come on, you’re a better writer than that.

It's interesting to me that you call it a BioWare game, because while I'm aware of the company's legacy, I never played their games until KOTOR. So to me, a BioWare game means KOTOR, Jade Empire, and the Mass Effect trilogy.

Honest question: should someone in my shoes (mid-30s, no kids) just take the easy way out at this point? There really does not seem to be any hope and I find it harder to wake up and trudge along doing menial labor. The best days are behind me and the days ahead seem absolutely not worth suffering through.

Just curious if someone can explain how this is any better than Injustice's "beat up the bisexual" event, from a moral standpoint?

I guarantee it's nothing exciting. "Something something jobs, something something economy, something a rising tide raises all ships"

Beyond Good & Evil 2. Because that game is just never, ever gonna happen.

The Legacy of Kain games, reworked so the gameplay mechanics and graphics are consistent across titles, streamlined so the story makes sense, and LoK: Soul Reaver 2's filler content pared down.

You understand this because you know and understand games. While video games have blossomed into a multi-million dollar industry, most people are only vaguely aware of the actual ins and outs of how this all works. People certainly know that games exist and probably know someone who plays them, and if you’re lucky,

“padded out by the roguelike nature” suggests to me you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what a roguelike is intended to offer to the player. This is like saying Ocarina of Time is “really” a 7-minute game because that’s how fast it can be completed in a speedrun.

Nah, that's a weak argument. That's like saying researchers are bad people because they test to find out if someone will press a button that delivers an electric shock to someone.

If you like the clunkiness and purposefulness of reloading but would still like the process to be a bit more streamlined, check out Hunt: Showdown. Super unique game set shortly after the Civil War, so guns can be unwieldy and take a long time to reload depending on what kind of weapon you’re using. But it adds to the

The Emily is Away games simulate this whirring and crunching too, and it’s a huge part of why I love them. I used to have the game running in the background just to have that hit of nostalgia.

Nah, Sega has generally been pretty cool about this stuff. Nintendo on the other hand...

I believe the concept you're referring to is known as "buying a game"

producers seem inconsequential to the finished product. At least that’s how I feel about movies”

Ah yes, the “THIS expansion will emphasize structured story content and Destiny will have a decent narrative” cycle begins again. How many times have we been told this only to get an intro cinematic, an end boss fight, and hours of inane radio babble between?
