With few exceptions, all the other owners I’ve met around here are actually really nice and courteous, more than willing to help eachother out. If anything, the douchenozzles are the ones that own old GTOs (64-74) that look down on us because “it’s not a real GTO, the Camaro crowd that say we don’t have real GTOs

I’ve had mine since 2010 and 52k. Now at 127k.
How dare I.

Doesn’t mean all of us are like that. Must be how Mustang people feel about crowd jokes.

What makes us neo-GTO owners awful exactly?

Makes one wonder who the first boomer-era government official will be that releases a dancing video to show the youths they’re still “cool.”

You get used to it. That’s what the steering wheel controls are for (when they decide to work properly).

In Soviet Russia, ass half you!

If you look around, you’ll find tons of GTO and Trailblazer SS rolling chassis for sale because of spun bearings. Something about the pickup starving for oil on hard launches. Not 100% why it’s more common there than the LS1, but 9/10 times as far as the GTO goes, it’s a 05/06.

I’m talking average.

With a few exceptions, it’s not that hard to find parts. Most of the Aussie exclusive stuff is pretty robust, and most of the rest can be sourced locally or from aftermarket vendors for reasonable prices.

They get ~18 mpg stock. The stock Blaupunkt head unit isn’t awful. The 6 disc changer breaks often though. Never had any issues with my window switches, and other than that, just make sure the BCM wiring doesn’t rub through on the glove box support, and you’re good.

IMHO, the 5.7 is the one to get. They don’t seem to spin crank bearings as constantly as the LS2s do. They ride about as you’d expect, like a GT. The stock struts kinda suck and the stock rear springs sag quickly. Any replacement is an improvement. I have mine set up for highway cruising as opposed to corner carving.

It’s been sitting on my computer’s hard drive for a decade, sue me.

Even though I owned it’s successor, a ‘95 Monte Carlo Z34 with the TDC 3.4, and that car’s successor, a 2001 Grand Prix GTP, I always wanted a Turbo Grand Prix. Funky steering wheel full of buttons and all.

Nearly bought one, but was foiled by some jerk who thought it was worth a million dollars. Saw a red one like in

My auto, 4 speed 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP I owned back in 2008 could do this:

Please tell me it was a Turbo Grand Prix like you pictured.

I wash mine every week, and always make sure to go to a touch less car wash with undercarriage. I figure if I can’t spare $13 a week, might as well sell it.

Honestly, it’s not the typical Tupperware prison most GMs are. It’s got a damn nice interior. The seat stitching rips, but that’s just some leather conditioner, needle, thread, and ambition from being fixed.

If you look hard enough, you can find a non-Type-S with the Type-S Brembo brakes and 6-speed. All it’s missing are the appearance bits.

I thought that was the Fiero.
