"I bet they're probably all now parents who have 1989 on blast (which is fine, cause it rules)" - has the definition of "on blast" changed? Ever since that Eminem song, I've understood it to mean this:

Note that Oasis did licence one song for a US ad, an instrumental version of "All around the world" for AT&T in 2005.

I'd say Oasis were the last big rock band, probably ever. There's a line from them going back through all the great rock bands from the 60s, 70s, and 80s - the same can't be said for whoever may have been declared their successors since.
