My potential representative is an Air Force veteran awarded the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award; retired as a Colonel after 30+ years of service before being granted a Brevet Promotion to Brigadier General” but is also running as a Democrat.

Then you’d be eating tree bark and dying in a mud hut.

I guess I must live in fantasy land since my landlord does/pays for repairs and replacements.

I enjoyed the review. But then again, I understand the basic fact that Kotaku isn’t a game review site that only reviews gaming aspects and nothing else. It never has been. It’s an intersectional blog. That’s what it’s always been. Loosen the anal purse strings and have fun. If the review is not for you, that’s fine.

Racism is terrorism. There’s very few “Let’s work within the framework of the laws of our nation” racists. There’s plenty of let’s use terror to inflict our worldview upon people. But sure, pretend racism only exists on paper and words and not in deeds and laws. Pretend sundown towns never existed, that redlining

Saw someone on Twitter recently, not even talking about Call of Duty but just military action stories/games/movies in general, and how they’ve really suffered from a lack of imagination regarding antagonists since the early 90's.

But can we still call them racist if they vilify ALL the non-American countries?

I just find it hilarious how they manage to cram all the generic bad guys into one. So there’s a middle eastern terrorist working with mexican drug cartels and they are being fed weapons by Russia. I was half expecting North Korea to show up to finish my bingo.

Not to defend terrorists nor drug cartels nor Russia, it

I have heard several Devil’s Advocate arguments that are causing me to reexamine (note: not fully reverse) my sympathies for Hellena Taylor.

And it looks like the hammer is being used.

In my neck of the woods in the USA, the infection rate is currently just slightly below where it was during the peak of the Omicron surge late last year. Deaths are fortunately lower, but there are still several every day.

As of now, this is the sole best take in the comments. Seems like everybody else forgot that this video game event is first and foremost a charity fundraiser - good on you, Nixxi! I’ll sling some bucks their way as well.

In my corner of the world, right after the last remaining safety measures were dropped, everything went up again to a level similar to what we had in the first and second waves (and that’s still the case more or less right now). Number of hospital admissions are constantly high (with of course some variations on the

I am pretty much with you. COVID is far from over and I would not be surprised in the slightest if we see measures reinstated again this winter

Because around here, just about everything has been dropped 6 months ago and hospitalizations are at background noise level and deaths almost non existent.

A big part of keeping those cases numbers down, and any infections less severe, is vaccination, so GDQ rightly mandates it for attendance at the event, which they would not be able to do in Florida. I know they went with a smaller, socially distanced model for SGDQ this year as well, which I’m sure they would like to

Man I miss the 80's and 90's when everyone wasn’t acting like a little b*tch about everything.” I, too, wish the government of Florida didn’t act like the LGBT+ community had cooties.

If an organization cancels an event they were going to hold, they should be allowed to explain why. I’m sorry you think keeping their attendees safe and LGBTQ+ people existing (which make up a decent number of speedrunners for some games) are “politics”.

I will be donating extra to AGDQ this year in light of this decision. Standing on your principals in spite of incurring costs and penalties is both selfless and admirable.

Good on you, AGDQ staff.

Dang, that could not have been an easy decision. Bailing on a hotel/venue contract is hella expensive. I would have honestly not blamed them if they just did one last event there to save themselves from taking that financial hit.
