I have memories of going to a friend's house as a wee lad and seeing rows and rows of perfectly assembled Lego sets, and being bummed that there wasn't any Legos left to build with.
However, I also remember slaving away for hours on end to craft a beautiful, 3-foot-tall Lego fortress, then coming home one day to

I dunno, I think some of Lego's attempts to cater to a female audience have felt a bit… Forced. Either way, I knew girls who had no qualms about playing with normal Legos and just made do with the few purple bricks available.

Am I the only one who thought that the Oliver Sava piece was a review?

yeah, like the scene in Toy Story where Woody and the other toys stage that big, creepy revelation that the toys are alive, and Sid runs away screaming like a baby.

Excellent observation. In Finn's mind the Legos really are moving independently, so all of the characters experience that reality because they're the medium through which Finn is telling a story. That's why it'll be interesting in the sequel, when Finn has to play with his sister and her Duplos, because if you've ever

Yeah, I thought it wasn't really necessary for him to move. After all, no matter how much we anthropomorphize them, LEGOs are still just plastic toys. I think that Lord & Miller were understandably afraid to explicitly say that none of it was real, and thus took a bit of a shortcut.

I'd say it's more of a reflection of the nature of LEGOs. I mean, there's probably around 900 different types of LEGO heads, and there are probably only about 30 or so that are explicitly female, and maybe 100 more that are gender-neutral. Based on those numbers, it would make sense to have a larger number of male

Seriously!?! That's awesome! I haven't really been keeping up with all the pilots, so I hadn't heard…

Okay, I'm back, and I've had time to think, and now I'm just wondering where all of Lynne's fellow bandmates were when this was recorded? Where was Kelly Groucutt, one of the best rock bassists of all time? What about Richard Tandy, Dave Morgan, Bev Bevan and all the other musicians who were just as big a part of ELO

Oh My God Jeff Lynne is a sellout. Excuse me while I run away and cry…

why is it not enough to just have a compilation album?

I had that riff/hook in my head for about 5 months, and never got tired of hearing it.

Or at least drank some coffee to compensate.

I wish my name had a Q in it, so I could use the Q slash in my signature…

That one was my favorite for a while, now I'd have to go with "I sat by the Ocean", purely for the riff at the beginning. Still, nice to see some love for "if I had a Tail".

I wonder how many other gum-themed defense systems PB created before realizing how gimmicky it was

Yeah, I seriously hope that both Clarence and Ian Jones-Quartey's new show, Lakewood Plaza Turbo get greenlit soon. Steven Universe is still good, but the pilot was probably my least favorite of the three.
