Morty's getting increasingly sicker of Rick's shit, but he still defers to Rick a lot- out of respect and/or fear, and I don't think it's really in Morty's character to be confrontational, so it'll probably take a little more to get him to really chew Rick out.

Best episode of season 3 so far. Probably the best Morty episode to date.

The "sending explosion/receiving explosion" gag singlehandedly brought this from a B- to an A-

I work in a movie theater- would it be worth losing my job to make fun of customers about to see this movie?

Or the least educational TED talk ever.

"the prom story didn't even make any sense"

You can't trust a guy who buttons the top button.

Like a box of paints that are mixed to make every shaa-aade

Honestly 'Everything Stays' may be one of my favorite songs of all time, not just from the show. The first time I watched Stakes I was straight-up sobbing at the end, with Marcy playing the song just like her mother did.

Like getting hit in the face with a living lobster

Yep, Kinane is excellent. I'd say Bo Burnham too, but I think he's kind of in his own sphere honestly.

I mean it's arguably their best album, but the first few tracks are pretty much expendable

The core conceit of Aku being able to conjure other personas to converse with is a comedy goldmine.

I don't want to admit it but you're probably right.

Comparatively yeah, but honestly Futurama was never all that great to begin with.

Fixed. Thanks man, that was a pretty dumb gaffe…

I'd say this stacks up pretty well against "Stakes". The ending of "Islands" was objectively a lot more emotional, and I definitely felt it, but the reprise of 'Everything Stays' at the end of "Stakes" had me bawling like a little bitch. Hopefully Rebecca Sugar won't be too busy with SU to write another song or two

That and Finn's "you're out of your depth" rant to the bear-creature yesterday. It's nice that the show is seeming a bit more self-aware about just how much all these characters have been through.

It'd be really nice if seasons 8 & 9 ended up being chock-full of brilliant episodes, and the show finished on a high note (unlike every other long-running cartoon series ever).
