I really need to go test drive one. I want a fun daily driver that I can track or autox if I want to when the MR2 is down. As much as I’d like to DD the MR2, it’s only getting less and less practical as I modify it more and more for autocross. I’m just very averse to having a car payment. It’s not that I don’t think

Its been said already in so many words, but I love just going on an aimless drive. Windows down stereo up. In my MR2 this consists of just exploring and looking for fun roads which I usually find by finding a river on the map and looking for a two lane road that follows it.

This should be the minimum fitness requirement for everyone in whole country

that is simply brilliant

I must know more about this header design!

I think the lack of storage space was the achilles heel of the car. With no storage space it was probably immediately put into “second car” territory by most shoppers at the time. The miata was small, but it still could be your only car.

Soooo the answer is miata?

came to say the same, but there were ground tests of the nuclear powered jet engines for the project. Both GE and Pratt & Whitney had functioning test engines

sigh.....I knew it wasn’t gonna be real but dammit Subaru you got my hopes up.

I’m getting a pretty strong mazda 3 vibe from this pic

I didn’t think the normal springs where super stiff so they could probably get away with a slight bump in spring rate or perhaps some adjustible dampers, but my point was that I hope that this is a higher-performance BRZ instead of a cosmetic package

I honestly don’t give two shits about what it looks like, all I care about is what they did to the engine and suspension. I’m gonna be pissed if they unveil another worthless trim of it that’s nothing more than a body kit

IT’S SO TINY I WANT IT!!! I normally don’t get too bent out of shape about the JDM only cars but this thing is too cool.

Its a good looking car, but it's just too similar looking to the 650S and P1. Having a consistent design language between cars is good, but I wish each model was more unique.

Dammit Nissan, why didn't you bring the S15 to the States!? I really want a Silvia

Now playing

The Top Gear power lap of the Caterham R500. The Stig manhandling stighandling the overpowered lightweight around the track at 10/10ths is a sight to behold

I've had a few project cars, starting with a go-kart, then a 82 Jeep CJ-7, a 94 Ford Ranger a 95 Mitsubishi eclipse, and currently my 85 Toyota MR2 and I've learned many good lessons

when in doubt, get a bigger hammer

It doesn't make any sense to me either. They should just badge them as Toyotas. The Toyota brand can have some more exciting vehicles in their lineup and they get rid of the cheesy "youth" brand crap that they've been trying with Scion.

So the future will be just like the ex-Driver anime right?
