Am I the only one that likes the little guy? A bit of retro, but still seems new. Yes it has shades of land rover, but is that so bad? If it’s decently powered and nice to drive I’d consider one for my wife’s next vehicle.

RIP Jeep. This will be your demise. The only hope for Jerp is if they spin off from FCA and disassociate themselves from the debacle that is Fiat/Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge/Alfa/Ram/Maserati.

Looks are subjective and yet you are objectively wrong

Neutral: Is a Ford built in Mexico or a GM in Canada an American car? Are all the Toyotas, Hondas, and Nissans built in the states still Japanese cars. How about those Mercedes and BMW’s built in the south? Are they still German cars? This is the 21st century. The brand is bigger than the flag of where it was built.

Even if it doesn’t end up being the long term solution, what do you suggest doing instead?

Bill’s Porsche fandom goes way back. His infamous mugshot was taken after he was arrested for having a little bit too much fun with his first 911 on the desert roads around Microsoft’s original office in Albuquerque.

The Taycan purchase is not a surprise. Bill is a Porsche fan and also owns a freaking 959, which instantly grants him all kinds of cred that no amount of tweeting can undo.

IDK every time I hear Musk talk, it’s pretty underwhelming.

This is what I like about GM and Ford’s approach. They are doing all their testing privately with U-Michigan and Michigan State (because its close to home for them) rather than just spawning it on the public for beta testing like Tesla and Uber.

Yeah I don't really want our publicly funded roads to be a part of corporate beta testing
