It’s a V12 Ferrari with a gated shifter for less than $100k. You’re guaranteed to see this appreciate over the next 10 years even if you just park it in the garage.

Splitting up Rey, Finn and Poe was the biggest mistake of The Last Jedi, so I struggle to buy that this script would be better to watch than what we got. Those 3 main protagonists always have great chemistry and it seemed like a waste to have Finn go on a useless side mission with a new character that he had no…
The Trump supporter playbook is to never, under any circumstances, directly address the issue at hand. Pivot directly to generic Fox News talking points. If forced to address a real issue, always blame problems on liberal anger, Obama or Clinton.
Not sure what people expected when millions of college educated millennials still have negative net worth at 30.
To be fair, I totally agree with Raphael Orlove’s assessment of american transportation in general. I just think anyone who cares about climate change (Rep Dingell included) would think it’s obvious that more needs to be done than just increasing EV subsidies, but increasing EV subsidies is a net positive. It’s like…
3rd gear: I do think you’re being too glib.
I’m a car enthusiast and I would love it if nobody NEEDED a car. Then the roads would be open for just the people who want to drive or drive for a living. Sounds glorious compared to what we have now.
1. Most people who buy new trucks update before 100k miles.
The Ram has been updated more recently, and if you opt for the top trim then it will be “nicer” to most people. But that doesn’t make it a better truck. And when Ford updates the F-150, it will likely jump the Ram to become the “nicer” option.
I’ve driven trucks from all 3 brands and the F-series is hands down the best overall truck from the V6 F150 all the way up to the big Super Duties. As far as I can tell there are only 3 reasons you’d buy anything other than a Ford if you’re buying a new pickup:
I think you’re right that we’re getting closer to a tipping point. I don’t think it’ll be as fast as what you described with film to digital (one year it was a niche thing, the next year it was standard and people are dumping the old tech by the boatload), but I do think it’ll be quicker than what most people in the…
This is true to some extent. A lot of it has to do with the financial magicians working behind the scenes to make the payments on a $45k pickup truck look about the same as the payments on a $30k pickup truck. So real prices slowly tick up without people really noticing it so they can end up spending $100k on $60k…
It goes both ways, too. I had a company car that could be located, started, stopped, locked and unlocked with an app. You could track the odometer, fuel level, all that jazz. Very convenient, to be sure. Eventually I turned in the vehicle, naively assuming the dealer’s first step would be to do a master reset. Turns…
Theranos was worth almost 10 billion at one point, WeWork was worth 47 billion, so....
You can easily limit a taxi’s routes to an area that is already mapped out in detail. Autonomous vehicles work better when they already know the detailed terrain and traffic patterns of where they are going. Taxis usually have a much smaller set of routes that they’ll drive than a personal car as well.
This is what Porsche does. They go for repeatable performance figures that make driving it fast all the time possible. A 911 Turbo S can do 3 second 0-60 times over and over and over again without burning a clutch. Most other cars will overheat or bust a clutch after the about third one in a row.
It’s crazy the kind of stuff Tesla gets away with in their marketing materials. They say “full self driving” all over the place on their website and somehow that’s ok?
