My reaction to this video is a good example of what I believe is known, technically, as the “Lamp from IKEA” effect.

What that tells me is the battery charger he’s using is garbage and should be replaced.
I know there’s more parasitic loss, but this an Audi, not a Nissan. FWD-bias is a joke. Rear bias is the only sensible option for a performance-oriented luxury marque. Losing 1 mpg is meaningless if it causes Audi to lose customers, which it certainly will.
If this were to occur, how exactly Russia will react to their aircraft being fired upon, and even brought down en-masse by Sunni Arab state supplied MANPADS remains unclear.
Audi claims it saves 0.3 liters for every 100 kM when tested in Ingolstadt traffic.
I’m not talking about toys you only take out for fun, I’m talking about what cars were actually like to drive every day 40 years ago. And that was, shitty.
One of the reasons taking an old car out for a drive is fun today is because you don’t have to rely on it. Because you can go back to your boring, reliable car any…
Buying a new car gives the same willingness to “put up” with.
You’re missing the most important point: Yes, Compacts were shitty 40 years ago. But ALL CARS were shitty 40 years ago. ALL OF THEM.
“But, but, what about the (insert desirable old car here)? It was amazing and beautiful and better in every way than new cars!”
Nope. It was shitty.
That 40 year old Porsche 911? Shitty.…
I grew up with cars like this. Manual choke is necessary with carbs, and not really difficult to figure out.
Levante...is that name going to be final?
No, let it burn, get a new one with insurance payout.
I make this request EVERY time one of these comes up without the year stated in the ad. Sadly, we’re still left to guess. This one’s probably ‘76.
You should start including the year in these articles, because for a young’un like me I genuinely can’t tell if this ad is from ‘70 or ‘85.
“It came over from World War II fighter jets,”
Unleaded water only; none of that Flint stuff.
$150k for a sub 500 horse 6 cylinder? Go f*** a goat BMW.
I’d tend to agree with this being a frivolous lawsuit done either intentionally, or due to a lack of understanding about how an SCR system works.
Not sure I buy that, as the stunt (full on defeat device) is so boneheaded, it’s hard to believe more than one company would have the required combo of hubris, arrogance, and idiocy to think it was a good idea.
The new Boxster motor will be a flat-4 (like it says in the article) I’d bet there’s very little similarities between the two—outside of the marketing department.
I find it hard to believe that there is really any synergy between this racing engine and the production boxer engine going into the 718. It seems like an outdated notion that there even should be any relation between a purpose built race car engine and a production car engine.
