Public companies are required to publish audited financials for a reason (believe me I work in Big 4). This guy seems to be providing a pretty thorough and valid analysis based on public audited financials. I see nothing wrong with him comparing how they run their ongoing operations to a Ponzi Scheme. Specifically,

Agreed. But to add to it is this quote:

You know someone is desperate for money when they try to sue a random person on the Internet.

Another takeaway from that incident, of course, is that the plane continued in controlled flight and made a successful emergency landing. A bad day, to be sure with one horror-movie-grade fatality and several severe injuries, but it could have been far worse. There is much to be discussed in that picture about where

I agree entirely, which is why GMs campaign is so utterly stupid. There is no reason in the world to believe that Ford’s design is bad simply because it’s a different material.

If aluminum is so much better than steel, Andrew, why can’t you crush a steel beer can on your forehead? #science

Corvette frames, Cadillac hoods, entire V8 motors, etc, etc, etc... GM should walk the talk and sell us the 7500lb Corvette they say we need.

Truck marketing is war, GM knows that Ford is sticking its neck out with Aluminum and they are all to happy to strike. Also, like war, truck marketing is mostly pointless, ugly and fought with dubious facts.

Right? Let’s say you’re the first one in line at a green light:

Maybe they’re just leaving themselves an out so they don’t get rear-ended?

Fuck you. I drive a manual. It’s not my fault the ass hats have have automatic creep. I’ll move up when the god damn traffic starts moving. Moving 15 feet for you is not worth it.

I guess this author missed the part of the story where they plug in a Sprint Cell phone and find random IP addresses of cars traveling on highways across the country giving them easy access to do anything they wanted to any of those cars.

High belt lines thanks to safety standards aren’t helping any manufacturer’s, but Nissan certainly doesn’t seem to be trying very hard to make a decent looking car. The S15 Silvia was the last attractive car they made.

All new cars are too big.

WTF is so difficult about shipping a car? Call up one of the many companies that do this and get it done. Some of you guys act like Accord owners not enthusiasts.

I think anything anyone ever tells you when selling you a car sounds suspect. That being said a lot of folks love something until it “does them wrong” in their eyes and then they just want to cut the cord. People will definitely pay to avoid hassle. Somebody with half a million dollars of cars in the garage might

Good points. Perhaps I’m wrong.

Agreed they do. I’m not talking short term initial depreciation. This is more mid life depreciation where these cars are hovering right now. The 2009 models that he’s speaking about in this post are going on 6 years old at this point.

Because the repair isn’t 3k. It’s also not 5k. Everywhere I’ve seen, it’s a touch more than 15k. So his is priced perfectly correctly - it’s a 60k car with a 15k repair needed. And no, this is not a DIY repair either.
