The tipping culture went already so bizarre that the question became rather shall you tip before or after the service. In some grocery shops you have nowadays to tip the guy before to ensure you do not get rotten vegetables. Tipping is a sickness which makes a society sick.

Why can’t the restaurant which charges 250 USD simply pay wages? The restaurant is expected to be able to afford it ... 

The entire discussion just shows how bad tipping is and what it does to people. “Golden rule” ... What bizarre framing of an absurd expected intransparent concept is that? A percentage of a bill... Why not just give a clear fair final price on the menu? Why to hide and make the restaurant look affordable and then

1) This is the worst place to send a tipping question. Her only answer is always tip too much.

On the other hand, we really do need to kill tipping culture. It IS ridiculous that server A makes $2 bucks for pouring a $10 shot while server B makes $50 doing the exact same work pouring a $250 shot.
