I’m smart - I test software that performs complex analysis of microbiome testing for patients and reports on that data in a manner that can be understood by most doctors - even non-specialists. And I wouldn’t trust myself to run the country.

What I just LOOOVE to do is to not only find and recreate the defect but too also tell the developer what’s causing the problem...whether the code’s borked or there’s a problem with the database or the upload process or whatever...and whenever I can - give them advise/suggestions on how to fix it! : ) The good ones…

Over 20 years as a software tester here...dealt with so damn many of these developers who can not accept that a defect is not a personal insult. A personal favorite is when a junior dev who does not understand the complexity of the system will tell me they ‘can’t make the defect happen on their machine’ so it’s not…
