Oh yeah, it was meant as sarcasm. The “if it saves one life” logic is absurd. There are a million better ways to save one life. Hell, there are better ways to prevent DUIs per dollar spent than a checkpoint.

That’s why zero tolerance should be the standard. If you are driving you should always be 0 unless you have a medical reason. Impairment or not, if you know there is no “limit” you never have an excuse on getting caught short.
If stopping every car gives the chance of saving at least 1 life that could be lost to a drunk driver then it seems like a good trade off to me.
I would encourage you to read the statistics on how many people are caught in checkstops before you pass judgement.
People aren’t making fun of people with cancer, they’re making fun of cancer itself. I thought that was obvious...
Man, I like seeing people taking stands against the use of “cancer” as a casual insult, I’ve been seeing it more and more lately and it just warms me up inside.
But cancerous has been used to describe many things unrelated to cancer in our whole history.
Yeah, I am about as PC as they come, but even with a Dad who has been slowly dying of cancer for 8 years, that word doesn’t bother me when used in this way. I won’t fault anyone for it bothering them though. That’s their prerogative.
Normal. Ran across an US Army ad on the Infinity War Honest Trailer video.
This seems weird, my mom’s cancer causes real complications and anguish in my life. Never once have I been offended by use of the word that is in no way directed at her, myself, or any other specific sufferer. It is very clear that the word cancer, like many words, has other more metaphorical uses. And that cancer…
But Muselk didn’t talk about getting raped. That was Zylbrad. He wasn’t even laughing because a rape joke was funny. He was laughing because Zylbrad messed up and got crushed.
This. Everyone uses the term cancerous to describe players, teams, characters, etc. https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/search?q=cancerous&restrict_sr=1&sort=top
I don’t see any problem with it. It’s nonspecific.
Muselk is the most vanilla, non-offensive streamer out there. He has an Australian DisneyXD show, for god’s sake.
If I’m being honest, I came here for the racist rape jokes because I like a good joke.
“Cancer comp” is a term used by just about everyone in Overwatch. Should it be excised? Maybe? I have friends and family members who have died from cancer, and it never bugged me. But honestly this is the first I’ve heard of people being upset about it.
It’s hard to feel bad for them though. I mean, you know, IGN sucks.
This is nuts that it went on for so long and so extensively. I don’t want to blame others at IGN for one person’s rampant plagiarism, but shouldn’t they have had at least 1 editor who would’ve identified this sooner? Also, if this has happened so frequently, wouldn’t there be other creators who would’ve have…
It’s true that those are core cliches, but as a sometime writer, this many coincidences across one piece is simply not possible. It’s a giant red flag for plagiarism. It’s not just word choice, it’s sentence structure, order of topics covered, time spent on each area. If you take the original review, then change words…
