Nah...prank shows have a “gotcha” moment. That isn’t really what this is (with a few exceptions). The people he interacts with go along with him of their own free will...he comes in and pitches a ridiculous idea, and they just begrudgingly go along with it.

Eh, I don’t know.  I feel like Adam Scott usually plays a slight dick.

Yeah, it wasn’t a great show by any means, but I think it had potential.

Booooo!  This news really puts me in bad spirits.  The specter of the show this could have become will haunt me.

Leia could.

Lightsaber wins. The fact that Cap’s shield is shaped like a shield means that the metal can melt. It can take concussive force incredibly well, but it isn’t heatproof, apparently. Since lightsabers essentially burn through things, it would eventually do the job.

I don’t understand people interested in watching, either.

There’s a difference between a book about the making of a film...and a novel length review.

No, that all sounds about like what I expected.

I’m not anti-analysis. I’m anti-obsession. Because this isn’t analysis. Analysis is trying to understand something. Scientific endeavors? Historical documents? Literature? Analysis isn’t about explaining why you hate those things, it’s about what those things mean and what relevance they have. It’s about

Isn’t it a little ridiculous to complain about a Mary Sue in a film franchise where the original director literally named the protagonist after himself?

Animal rights and arms dealing, sure.  Capitalism comes with the arms dealing.

Yeah, I’ve probably spent a few hours commenting about the film, combined, over the past few months. But there’s no way this guy didn’t do that, in addition to the actual dozens of hours it would take to put together all of this.

Eh, nah. Spending that much time on something I hate doesn’t seem worth it unless I’m making a TON of money. And he’s only getting this money because of other unhealthily obsessive fans taking part in it. And they’re definitely not being paid to watch it.

I don’t get obsessive nerd culture, no. I know it exists, but I think it is often unhealthy, entitled, and way out of hand. Especially negative obsessive nerd culture.

Huh.  That Oujia board metaphor was actually pretty brilliant.

I guarantee I do not give a shit about Plinkett’s dissection of the prequels. I don’t even know who that is. I didn’t like the prequels, doesn’t mean I want to watch a LOTR Extended Edition-length criticism.

Yeah, I’ll be honest....I question the sanity of anyone who makes 5 hours of video critiquing a 2.5 hour movie.

Yeah, but before it was political with, y’know...white people.

And you really think you’d develop such a mastery of that language so quickly that you’d reflexively speak that way?  And that you would never need to speak your primary language to your child because you just didn’t know how to say something right in a language you just learned?
