It’s not easy being eternally THAT angry. I totally forgot what article I had just read by the time I finished that comment. Frankly, I’m not even sure that they left the comment on the right article.

Agreed! Cheap dials live out in the garage because batteries don’t like the cold and not all digitals make batteries last like Mitutoyos (nor are my Mitutoyos my garage beaters). Plus, good enough dials are cheaper than good enough, fumble and drop resistant digitals.
Totally agreed! I was visiting Germany a few years back and some friends and I wound up at a small, family-run Greek place “late” at night for sleepy parts of Bavaria. The one owner walked over, we were assuming to hand us checks and usher us out, but instead she asked if she and her husband could pull up chairs and…
My application to Munro would look like this:
I think you underestimate just how tightly program financials have your soft bits gripped in a vise, unfortunately.
As someone who grew up riding around in the backseat of ‘89, ‘99, and finally an ‘09 Galant, I don’t think they were ever cool and fun.
I loved that they aired Michael shutting that down over the radio, too.
A double standard from Toto?! No, he’d never act like that...
Added a comment to the bottom of the string about why some shifts slam into the next gear.
IIRC (from what a friend told me about his work), the ZF 9sp has 2 dog clutch shifts, from 2-3 and 6-7. These have to be speed-matched very closely as they rely on some friction material between clutch disks that, if overspun, will rocket parts through the case. And due to these dog clutches, they can’t be skip…
I think what Suzuki is doing is “inherently good”.
This was my question. The “full” part of FSD has some implications there that I don’t think quite align with the suggested usage.
Yep. I’ve got a smaller ~30qt cooler I use for solo trips that’s good for 2-3 days of ice, especially if you pack larger frozen bottles or so to help reduce that surface area:volume ratio of your ice. And then I’ve got a 120qt for 5-6 days of ice that’s used for going to IMSA races and whatnot where I’ve got food for…
Not to downplay how cool that truly is, but have you seen this BMW Z adventure?
As long as we keep the scope to “run of the mill road trip”, I’d agree. But there aren’t many 5-days-of-ice coolers that’d fit into your average sedan’s trunk, maybe the 2nd row, but they’re generally quite bulky. If you’re able to get ice and food daily, then a 24hr cooler would be no issue.
Toto bitched to race control about Mazepin going slow in ?Spain? and “costing us the position”. Spinning in the pits where you have countless people walking around is undoubtedly worse than a slow, clueless Haas on track.
This is what happens when you start getting high on your own farts.
In tight city streets, I’ve previously jumped the curb side tires up onto the 6" of concrete curb there along the sidewalk to leave more space for passing cars because I’m aware of my width. It’s much easier to park a little up on the curb and have pedestrians not even need to walk around it because who’s walking on…
I’ll share my popcorn with you in the meantime. Many of us who work with the UAW have sat here eagerly awaiting this for a long time. The power to be may be corrupt, but they’ve also bred a toxic culture down through their ranks making it very UAW vs. everybody when really most of us just want to get work done well…
