Lower floor, run race seats, add “riser” brackets/spacers for stock seats IF that ever is a future consideration even.

3rd Gear:

As the owner of a black ZHP coupe with driver’s seat bolster wear (but “only” 130k mi), I feel called out.

It’s almost like Toyota has been down this road before with that hip brand, what’d the kids call it, SKY-ON? SKY-IN? SCI-ON?? Gladys used to have that boxy one!”

Cautious NP from me. Clean, low miles, 4x4, but that MY03 4.0L SOHC is likely due for timing chains and guides soon (100k is the usual grenade point). Because it’s a 4x4 model, it has 4 timing chains/guides/tensioners.

Exactly my thoughts. Not worth losing sleep over. The allowable consumption in the M54 is pretty high (1L/1500 km, IIRC).  I had the intake off to do the starter, so I did the O2 Pilot mod, but I haven’t bothered throwing anything else at the oil consumption because it’s acceptable.

If you’re in the Detroit-ish area, All Euro in Ferndale is great. Looking online FCP Euro is also excellent. Most of these older German cars share parts heavily within the MFG and sometimes amongst each other. They all relied heavily on Bosch and other big, German suppliers as those were the companies right there in

I’ve got an e46 ZHP coupe, so I’m sadly well acquainted with the forum shenanigans. These cars really seem to be equal parts diligent maintenance and dumb luck.

Project Farm backed this up with Blackstone reports for his various vehicles and machinery.  12mo is a feel-good number, but based on nothing.

That video was taken outside a Roush facility. They often handle plant errors (like a malfunctioning robot mis-applying a sealant for some time before being caught) and will frequently have a lot full of brand new vehicles awaiting reworks, though it’s not out of the question that they’d be staging even more cars

Personally, in the rust belt here, I feel like rubberized undercoating is a death sentence. Because it’s resilient, but no coating is perfect, it creates the exact scenario water (and it’s dissolved road salt) loves. A pin hole to wick into, creating an initially-small pocket of water for rust to form. But because of

Among this market, too, I’d much rather have Honda’s reliability than any of the others’ world-car offerings. The Toyota C-HR is going to carry the $ToyotaPremium$ that the Honda won’t and they’ll likely be neck and neck for Maytag-like reliability.

I believe Indy is the only other FIA Grade 1 track in the US (with COTA and Miami currently certified).  The Canadian and Mexican GPs run on their only G1 tracks, so the realistic chance of adding more even North Am. F1 races is basically nil.

Gonna need more photos of the Boot!

At intersections without a protected left, the left-after-red is sometimes the only way to get any waiting cars through the intersection, unfortunately. Definitely more common, if not expected, in urban areas.

Happens a ton in MI, too. They don’t seem to look at who’s approaching when and begin this visual look-down at each other to decide the proceeding order when everyone arrives even roughly at the same time.

It’s got to be the right intersection with a large set back and near left, but yea, you got the timing factory right.  Hammer it as soon as the red begins to fade even the slightest.

Sounds like a DTS Will Buxton quote.

Now playing

Just going to preempt the usual comments with this (t=60s if that fails):

Late to the comment party, but I’ve got a fair bit of actual experience with engineered-for-police-use vehicles.
