Also, it’s great for the walk-ins who want a new, 4dr, 5.5ft bed F-150 but can’t even qualify for the poor financial decision of financing one at some absurd rate. Just like how Jeep gets people in the door with the Wrangler, but then seats them in a “ruggedized” Fiat crossover that’s far more in tune with their use

1. How can we compare average transaction price to start price, like you just did? For under $30k, you can get a “Jalop Spec”, brand new, 100% aluminum bodied F150. If we’re talking start price, that’s the figure we should be using.

You’re spot-on. There are very few 100% aluminum cars out there. Everything on the F150 above the frame is aluminum. The crash structure takes a lot to engineer and it likely doesn’t translate well to unibodies. Cars have had aluminum doors, hoods, fenders, etc. that bolt on, but I can’t recall a single aluminum

I don’t think the hammer and punch would work in this case. Based on the luster and general look of the stripped driving lugs shown on the F1 YT channel, it looks to be either an aluminum or magnesium alloy nut. AFAIK, they’re attached to the wheel and single use, so a light alloy nut doesn’t seem totally unreasonable.

It says BMW competitor, but the 3.oL 530i at the time was ~2s faster to 60. The 3.0 Duratec is better than Ford’s 3.0 Vulcan from the same time, but it’s still one disappointing engine when you’re looking at 3 pedals and thinking you can kick those around and make it fun.

An often-overlooked cooling component on the 4.0L is the thick layer of oily, dusty cake built up on the block.  Get that thing breathing somewhat better with a refreshed cooling system and you’ll keep it flirting with the stock t-stat temp all day.

You do realize why they’ve been shorting it, right?

I shit you not, I just bought a hydraulic press off a guy who was bringing a ‘92 Probe back to road worthy condition for his kid to drive. All I could think to say was something along the lines of, “Whoa! You don’t see many of those around still!” A mid-00s economy car is a far better option for hardly any more $$$,

Can’t find the ad, but IIRC Cadillac advertised the 500 ci/8.2L V-8 Engine in the 1970 Eldorado as the largest displacement engine in a modern car.

My mom had one of these (an AWD model) that had the choke propped open by a permanently installed butter knife.  They called it the snow cat because it never got stuck.  I had to explain that an alleged 85HP being pumping through an 80s auto trans, through 80s AWD, and then to the ground meant you got like 10-15HP per

They are nice for neighborhood streets and tighter roads where you get a little extra low, side spill from the fogs that typical lows don’t cover.

You can add Jag to the list of USDM rear fog offenders, too. On the highway, you catch a glimpse of bright red lights up ahead on a clear day and wonder what people could possibly be hitting their brakes for now... Nope, just someone cruising around with their rear fogs on.

You likely have to turn on just your running/marker lights and then turn on the fog lamps.

Let’s not forget the now-defunct “Has Maldonado Crashed Today?” website.

Can we add the Millvale to 28N on-ramp to this list? You drive under the highway and stop on a slight uphill (yes, stop sign stop), and have to use your mirrors to look back at a curved part of the road (because the train tracks can’t move, so 28 kinks a bit) to see when you’ll catch a break in traffic to huck

I came here looking for this! I drove this (thankfully against rush hour traffic) for years. You have 200yd to go from a stop sign to the split where the very lane you merge into exits to Sq. Hill. So 200yd to get up to highway speeds and complete 2 lane changes.

If we can make them a requirement for other constitutionally protected rights, why not voting?

There is no such danger with voting.

For some reason, I don’t think you’re going to get a response from the author here...

This really gets me annoyed when I’ve got the cruise set, and have for miles, and they catch up only to camp out just off my corner.
