It almost seems like detuning the V6 was a decision made in a marketing meeting. “We need to change people’s minds about turbo 4s, and drive home that the EcoBoost name means performance as well as fuel economy. We need it to rank ABOVE a larger engine, in terms of power and ‘status’. People have begun accepting V6s

*premium additions, not performance additions.

Too bad you can’t get any of those performance additions to the V6. While the turbo puts out more power looking at the numbers, some people prefer the linear power delivery of a naturally aspirated engine, while at the same time would want a premium model without having to spend V8 money.

$15 of that $35 goes to the mechanic shop? If the state requires a set number of actions to be done during the inspection, they should acknowledge how long that should take (lets say 1 hour?), and provide enough money per inspection fee to the shop to cover the employee's 1 hour work plus any overhead expense the shop
