they are contractually obligated to continue working. Even without pay. they have made as much money as they will for the year. Yet they still have to protect them, without making a single penny more.

Right. He owns the place so why is he charging them? It’s disgusting. I would want to the people protecting me to be paid, happy and satisfied with work.

If I’m not mistaken they will eventually get paid for the hours they worked but not the overtime. It happened to me a couple of times in the military where due to government shut downs we didn’t get paychecks. Luckily we had great military banks, USAA or NavyFed, who would use their own money to issue us “paychecks”…

Don’t forget the cost to the towns and states that must forgo income, endure insane traffic and re-routing, and spend millions on extra police detail for these presidential vacations/weekends. So what does this mean, like, logistically? Do people have to work for free? Can they refuse to go to work if they aren’t getting paid? Isn’t not paying people for work they have done...illegal?
