I traded my friend a perfectly sound ‘75 Celica for his “7osomething” X1/9...a bad trade for sure but I loved that cars’ handling and spirit..... a grin on your face every time you drove it (when it worked, lol)...I don’t think I would fit in one now, but I would love to have another. Ones in great shape are hard to…
I can guarantee this....the first 170K miles is going to be better (cheaper) than the second 170K mile....Amirite?
Quick review of a GM product:
Had a ‘65 Mustang and later a college friend sold me his ‘73/74 Gremlin for $50...it actually, somehow passed NJ inspection...drove it for over a year, engine had about 6 moving parts, straight 6, three speed on the floor, AC worked (had a desert setting IIRC)...Got rear ended, splitting gas filler pipe, no problem;…
Don King got out in 7yrs....was given 20 to life, IIRC.

I have driven a bunch of cars over the years and the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in resided in a Peugeot (505?) sedan. Not too hard, not too soft; damn perfect (for me). The car was astonishingly slow and couldn’t get out of it own way; it you had to merge you would shut off the AC it was so bad...Still,…
Marty Robbins, of course....well selected/quoted...
or better yet, tartan.....shame on ya MacParland, and you call yourself a Scot!
Extra credit for knowing the original version by The Chips; well done..
I had a ‘70 something in college, traded my friend my ‘75 Celica for it, straight up. While it wasn’t a good trade for mechanical piece of mind, it was a complete blast to drive. Not fast, but it felt like it when you could take a turn at speeds that the domestics wouldn’t dream of; straight-a-ways, different…
My dad had a ‘70 LTD and later a ‘75 LTD both with the 351C, his favorite motor. The’ 70 was a bit lighter and quicker than the ‘75 but both were great on long trips and could fit 5 or 6 if you had to....Trannys were well built and heavy duty. The only problem I recall was a vapor lock on a carb once or twice; easily…
That’s an easy answer......4dr full size pick up...it is happening as we speak.
Hey, those kids were from NY, not NJ.....;)
I would agree, my ‘96 Bonneville had the 3.8 and it was quite fast. I can only imagine how it would be in a much lighter Reatta. Great looking car that should be easier (cheaper) to repair than some other two seaters. I look at them all the time on Ebay, some pretty good deals out there.
I haven’t bought any thing from them, but I do check FitzMall online.
I had a new 86 or 87 Mighty Max Sport (7 ft bed)and it was a darn good little truck. At the time the Ranger had a 2.o, the Toyota had a 2.4 and every time you went to the dealer they were usually sold out of want I wanted....I bought the Mitsu for like $7800 new with a 2.6/5Sp..Great little truck that I kept for 10…
