I think I like that pallet bedside table more..

Thanks for the replies! I'd feared as much, and this saved me going through the hassle of finding a Tiger upgrade disc. HTPC is out the window, but I might see if I can turn it into an iPod dock/sound system. It's too damn pretty to leave gathering dust somewhere.

Has anyone ever turned a PowerPC computer into a HTPC?

Anyone here use Lastpass for Safari? I cannot get it to work more than half the time, usually the icon is blank and it refuses to do anything. I'd just started to appreciate Lastpass on Firefox before I switched, I'd really like it back.

I've never heard of Whited00r, sounds pretty good. I thought this article would be more along the lines of what to do with an old iPhone when you no longer require its services as a phone, something I may soon need to think about. The battery is too old to bring it anywhere with me, but I was thinking of keeping it

...wasps can bite?

I'd rather use Selfcontrol (mac), Leechblock (Firefox),or Focalfilter (WIndows).

XKCD gets linked way too often, for once I get to cite Hyperbole and a Half instead

Unfortunately a lot of these tips are either US only or don't work as well outside the US.

Organisation is the correct spelling in almost all countries that aren't America.

If you're drinking Everclear, calories are the *least* of your concerns.

Someone should send this to senator Rick Santorum...

You can take the editor out of Gizmodo, but you can't take Gizmodo out of the editor it seems :P

What I thought this article would be about is where to actually *point* the camera, not how to take long exposure shots. How do you know you are focusing at... I'm not sure what to call it, the centre of the sky? So that full circles are visible, not just arcs.

I like the idea of keeping keys on one of those wire keychains, so I just bought a pair on ebay for $2. Might add a magnet at some stage, but I don't have many magnetic place I'd like to store my keys... although I might make some of these for keeping screwdrivers or usb thumb drives on hand. Very cool, but not $16

It still deletes, just the other direction... I think it makes more sense than on a PC when you think about it, since usually you want to delete something you just typed so deleting in reverse by default is more common. It just takes a bit of getting used to

Worth noting that Cinch will give you full window maximization by dragging to the top instead of the side. That way you still have the old behavior too.

Or, press command+space, type the first few letters of whatever app/file/folder you're thinking of and have it opened before you know it. Once you get into the habit of doing this you'll never want to go back to searching for icons again.
