I haven't seen any firing news, but AV Club's apparently ending coverage for a bunch of shows. The Middle and The Goldbergs are both no longer going to be covered, and there may be more shows that got the ax. https://twitter.com/NonStop…

Unfortunately, those hisses were mostly coming from the audience.

Don't cry.

The Zootopia Honest Trailer was downright awkward. It was pretty much just riffing on the movie having themes about prejudice and racism, and furry jokes. The former didn't even have the cadence of a joke, and the latter grew really repetitive by the end.

With how badly I treat it, I'm pretty sure it's going to off me in a murder-suicide any day now.

I am shocked that the movie with talking fish and vegetarian sharks was not biologically accurate. Next they'll be telling me toys don't come to life at night or my car doesn't have emotions.

Alec Baldwin was Jack Donaghy, and he supports saving the manatees. That gives him a lifetime pass, though sometimes he even manages to almost get it revoked.

That was an extremely fast shift from "this guy is just telling the truth, even if it bites the hand that feeds him" to "wow, this guy is an asshole."

I thought this article was about the film franchise for a second. Then I discovered that I almost could have been right, since they're working on the sixth movie already. That's more horrifying than any of the games.

Only prominently featured would have been acceptable, but making them the stars of the movie would have broken all domestic, international, and intergalactic box office records.

It's just The Wizard, with Nintendo and Mario Bros switched out for Blizzcon and Hearthstone. For some reason, Jenny Lewis still plays the love interest.

I actually like the pandas, but that's mostly because they're not elves, dwarves, orcs, or any of the other extremely cliche fantasy races that show up everywhere.

I knew the movie was doomed when I found out there are no murlocs. Those fishy bastards are the secret stars of Warcraft, and I refuse to patronize any film that excludes them.

I'm still mystified that they made this film "live action". It's already mostly CGI anyways, so I'm not sure why they didn't just go the rest of the way and make it completely animated. It may not have been a much better film, but at least it could have had a consistent style with less uncanny valley weirdness.

Fittingly enough, I think the World's End is the most alienating of the three. It's a darker film in a lot of ways. The main character is a suicidal alcoholic, the sci-fi is played straighter than expected, and it explores more complex themes of identity and growing up. Also, there's the ending, which manages to be

You mean this bowl full of feta cheese isn't healthy?

If you order a calzone, the entire staff shouts at you until you admit how wrong you are.

When I saw the trailer, I actually a little excited. Stephen Amell was a great casting choice, Bebop and Rocksteady looked surprisingly good, and my inner child cheered. I was hoping this was one of those Michael Bay movies that was objectively bad, but still kind of fun. The bad part seems to be true, but it sounds

On the downside, no DOOM appearances this year. On the plus side, Run the Jewels, Against Me!, and Flying Lotus. Maybe I won't forget about the releases until it comes out as one download this year.
