I guess I don’t understand the solidarity argument. Why does everyone have to show solidarity? It’s not like you’re showing solidarity with the underpaid workers in China that probably made the phone or computer you typed that comment on. Or solidarity with immigrant that probably harvested the food you had at lunch.

If union members are worth what they are paid, why should you care that other people try to fill in when the union is on strike? Shouldn’t their performance be sub-par and demonstrate that the unions are worth what they are asking for? 

And I should also note that we here at Jalopnik are a union shop, too, so I’m heavily biased.

Wish the article would have answered this, but what constitutes an engine change? Can the engines be rebuilt up from the block? Or is it anything more than spark plugs and an oil change mean it’s a “new” engine?
