Related to a retired music teacher, dated a grade school teacher LONG ago (that broad had no business teaching children), and knew a few others.

It’s the same as any other industry. I’ve worked with, and managed people, who say they are “so busy” or something took “4 hours to do.” But when you really dig deep and

You make the assumption your mother was good at managing her time. Many people aren’t.

While the sale of leaded gasoline—or leaded petrol, as the rest of the world calls it—has been banned in the U.S. for decades

she’s a school teacher, which is famous for working lots of hours for little pay.

Ehh, it’s all about how it was maintained.  Wife is the 3rd owner on her Audi and it has been pretty reliable.  It also has a stack of maintenance receipts.

Funny, my ‘07 335i I sold this year have 161k on the stock radiator with no signs of needing replacement.  Waterpumps, thermostats, upper radiator hose assemblies, etc...very common on those (and I did them all).  But the radiators themselves aren’t a big failure point.  Maybe on the really old stuff but not as much

Bought my shit cash but thanks for playing.

Not sure how the C8 would be America’s first production mid-engine car, when the Pontiac Fiero did it in the mid 80's with production numbers that dwarf the C8's year over year.

Good think I have 0.0 intertest in ever living in Turkey.

This is a really dumb take. Please explain how a 4-door truck is less useful than a 2-door. Still has a bed, can still tow, yet ALSO hold people.  If anything, a 2-door makes them useless.

It is small.  Even with the tow package it maxes out at 4000lbs.  IMO, it is a relatively useless truck.  Even a Ridgeline is a more useful truck.

I said I bought one.  590 RWHP C6Z.

So you basically need a minivan and not a truck.

Sold my N54 with 161k - wasn’t that expensive.  Oil leaks were the biggest headache.

This is easy if you up the budget a bit- a 2nd Gen CTS-V Wagon. Available in a manual transmission. LSA engine makes 556 HP stock out of the supercharged 6.2L mill with plenty of room to go further. They also handle pretty decently too. But you aren’t finding one @ 40k.

Says you. As a truck owner for many years, my primary use is to tow. If it wasn’t for towing, I wouldn’t need a truck. An SUV was a contender, but the ability to put dirty stuff in the back and easy of use of the bed were a convivence factor of the truck, but all secondary to towing.

This is especially true of 3/4 ton

Nope. If this is something a disabled person could drive, it would be an easy NP.

But just as a transport - no way.

Regardless of whether you buy new, buy used, or lease - a RESPONSIBLE buyer needs to figure out the overall out-of-pocket cost for the time period they intend to own the vehicle.

Account for fuel, depreciation, maintenance, repairs, and insurance. For me, fuel costs are typically similar enough in what I want to buy

Most trucks on the road today are quad cabs, or if the owner couldn’t swing it, one of the extended cabs with semi-usable back seats.

They may not tow, haul, or offroad, but those owners still want the kids to fit in the truck.

But no one is paying that for a small single cab work truck either, when you can get a small work truck today in the low 20k range.
