Not when possible - $0 period. Put any money you would use for a down payment into an easy to access account, so if that money was needed for a payment, you have it.

Wife has a B8.5 S4 with 97k on the clock. I have ALL of the service records for this car; only motor issue I have seen I had to deal with, which was a failed thermostat and slightly leaky waterpump (which was supposed to be fixed in the B8.5's but I can confirm otherwise).  Other than that, bad front wheel bearings -

Except “1/2 crew cabs once optioned out have quite similar tow capacities to 1/4 tons”. My family trip / tow vehicle is a ‘18 GMC Sierra SLT Premium Plus. I have it optioned out as close to a Denali Ultimate as you can get without being a Denali Ultimate. 9100lb tow capacity, and only because I bought at the end of

1989 Turbo T/A. Worth way more than 9k and still under appreciated for being a GNX killer.

LOL, you think a BMW Supra will be more reliable than a Camaro or Mustang.  Both equipped at similar price levels will embarrass a Supta on a track.

I’m 6'3" and insisted my vehicles have a sunroof. I very rarely close the sunshade. I have mine open all the time. When I bought my truck in ‘18 I forked over $1000 for that stand-alone option.

Only leaking I’ve dealt with was on my ‘02 Avalanche years ago, which happened only after sitting because the roof drains

These is the reason I’ve stopped shopping for now. My plan was to replace my daily driver (lightly modded BMW 335i 6MT). Considering a used M4, C7 Vette or maybe a 2SS Camaro...prices are higher by thousands over what was on the market last fall/winter.  Guess I will wait - I refuse to overpay on a car.

No need to look under the car.  It’s in the Nav menu; it was a requirement when buying my wife’s B8.5 S4.  Not that she needed it - at all - but for resale.  Though she loves the car and will probably run it to the ground...

Or you can know what the aftermarket has to provide and never want one without the iDrive screen. $380 shipped got me a iDrive Android replacement (and that was the top Snapdragon model that can run Android 10). Allows me to keep 100% stock functionality (with a better resolution screen) and has a full array of

I have an early 335i (yes, that super unreliable N54). 160k on it now and have owned it 5.5 years. $4,660 in maintenance and repairs - those numbers including two sets of tires, oil changes, battery. 52k miles I have put on her, costing me $71/month in maintenance and repair.

The trick is to not be a sissy and turn

Starting July 1st, there will be one less state requiring a front plate.  Ohio finally got rid of them.  Not that the law has stopped me from running no plate for years.

Not every industry is impacted by this, or is seeing additional revenue during this time.  Hell, I just got a big promotion during this whole thing.

Fr the single DIN, I get it. The head unit selections out there in general are very poor in the single DIN category.

No Android Auto.  Only CarPlay for the Sheeple.

Nothing like a clunky cord hanging out of your dash.  Classy look.

GMC dropped Quadrasteer 15 years ago.

And be easier to resell as it will have 1/4 of the miles or less.  And the Elise is at the bottom of its depreciation curve too.  Likely similar in the speed straight line (assuming a base Elise) and faster everywhere else.  Less comfortable though...

Had the thermostat fail and water pump leak on my wife’s B8.5 S4 (2013). Thermostat was a hard fail (happened to her previous B7 A4 too), but I discovered the water pump when doing the system pressure test, as it was barely a leak. And the B8.5 has the newer “improved” pump. Pain in the ass job too.

I owned a '92 for 2 years and a '94 21 years.  Neither leaked a drop.

The iDrive complaints are no longer worth mentioning.  Yes, the CCC iDrive is very dated, but the new Android 9 replacement units fix most of the complaints.  I have one in my E92 and is is great.  It has skins to look like the newer iDrive units but also has many Android apps as well.  Under $400 to upgrade...even
