Coil packs are a common issue with BMW's of this vintage.  Not expensive and fairly easy to DIY.  

Really?  You may need to meet up with people that make more money.  Hell, my 60k truck pretty much only gets used on weekends or less.  

And the 20k+ cost to do a clutch on one and is a very DIY unfriendly process.  

N54 powered BMW’s, especially early ones, have a long list of common issues. But at that mileage, most have already been addressed. I owned an ‘02 Avalanche North Face Edition from ‘05 until ‘15, where I replaced it with a ‘07 Escalade EXT.

Total CP.  37k for that mileage and year is a well optioned Turbo territory.  This is a low optioned S.

Must be a lot of people here with garbage or entry level jobs.  Me calling off = more work for me the following day(s) playing catch up.  Perhaps if you are needing excuses to call off, you really need to evaluate your life.  

Its is only an issue on earlier cars. It is also cheap to prevent if caught before cracking.  Once cracked...
