I know you’re trying to do good here, but honestly, you sound like the one that’s more interested in just turning a blind eye.

It’s because Japanese uses a syllabary instead of an alphabet—the only character they have that lacks a vowel is “n”. In other words, there’s no “k”, only “ka”, “ki,” “ku”, “ke” and “ko”. I think the writer took it for granted that you might know that already and therefore didn’t consider it to be unusual.

So you’re admitting to having potential for cold-blooded murder? How neat of you to do so on a public website. *HEY FBI, HERE’S SOMEONE YOU MIGHT WANT TO KEEP AN EYE ON.*

Did you and I watch the same video? Your comment is so tone-deaf it’s hilarious.

While we’re quoting ancient texts:

Lest we make hasty generalizations, I’m pretty sure two crazy fuckers aren’t representative of 1.6 billion people worldwide any more than some tweaker couple that throw their babies into garbage cans are representative of all Christians.

I think you’re probably an edge case. No judgment, but interpreting a light touch to the forearm as violence is not normal. If it was, I’m sure that we humans would not have lasted very long.

Also, the NRA is not promoting gun violence any more than the ACLU is promoting hate speech. Both are staunch supporters of a constitutional amendment that can be abused by people.

Yeah it kinda says something about our society that people are more shocked and horrified about a repugnant action than a murderous one. Out of all these comments, I think I only spotted one other person that mentioned this. People just have no sense of reality anymore.

I’m absolutely certain that she could make plenty of money around the world by satisfying people’s curiosities about what it was like to be married to and live with Donald Trump. People are generally curious about what Hell is like.

Hi there, I’m genuinely curious about your initial comment: what song is similar to “Creep” and Lana del Rey’s “Get Free”? I enjoy thinking about this kind of stuff, so would honestly like to hear your take.

Not that I’m judging, but based on what he wrote I would assume that PlaystoomuchHALO is a white guy, and from his perspective I’m sure non-white folks are swarming all over Seattle. I’m not white, and I’ve been to Seattle a few times—it’s not diverse, at least not compared to other big cities. I like it though—just

“Excuses excuses excuses...”

Maybe that’s true for some guys, but I think people take for granted that everyone has the same EQ or is otherwise at the same baseline. The truth is that a significant percentage of us are somewhere on the autism spectrum and therefore innately have a harder time reading verbal and nonverbal cues. I would argue that

You’re grasping at straws. They weren’t intended to be comedic—I know the difference. That would be like showing someone slipping on a banana when they’re trying to tell you they have cancer. Or is that what Japanese people do, and I just never realized?

There’s definitely fan service that’s meant to be laughed at, but there’s also definitely “male gaze” fan service. I’ve seen it in supposedly more mature titles like Your Name and A Silent Voice, and it always strikes me as awkward and gratuitous.

Want.

I was gonna say something similar (about the nose), but thought I should mention that Japanese men’s beards can get quite burly.

Is it a generally-accepted thing to assume that any such accusation from anyone at all is 100% true? I believe in taking them 100% seriously, but not necessarily 100% true. Innocent until proven guilty and all that: the American way. And if it was true, I would expect it to be a pattern of behavior leading to more
