You can't smell the hypocrisy coming off your own message? That insane level of bitterness and discrimination you've just demonstrated is leagues worse than any sexism I've ever seen on Kotaku.

Maybe it's just because I'm Canadian, but I've never seen any gender discrimination anywhere. I've just heard people bitch about how it apparently exists. Perhaps it's worse in the States.

Technically Mario is a brother too, and he's certainly more recognizable than Luigi.

Good. That's what you GET for being so stupid and mistreating your customers. Lesson learned? Now please don't try it again in six months, thanks.

There's nothing wrong with what they're doing. There's also nothing wrong with criticizing them for it. The concept of "free speech" works both ways. All of you people upvoting the posts about how it mean-spirited and unfair should really take that into account. Plus, all the author did was speak the truth here; it

Bought around 20 games, most in packages. Finally got the Half Life games, been putting that off. Spent around $120. I might poke it every day til it's dome just to make sure I don't miss anything I would want.

Ad hominem, maturity please. And Sam, why don't -you- use a little common sense?

They should be sued and humiliated. This pretention over intellectual property is getting old. Want more money? Make a better game.

If all we've heard about what he's gone through is true, then it's a good thing that he's not in there. I think he's been through enough to realize his mistake. Well... I'd still keep an eye on him for a while anyway to make sure no thoughts of vengeance were brewed while he was in there.

Do you have any evidence to suggest that he may have explicitly stated that he was joking?

I'm not sure what part of "he threatened to kill children" isn't clear enough to you that he committed a crime. Just because free speech is a thing doesn't mean you can say whatever comes to mind. People have to act on things like that being said. And society needs to see that it's not okay to waste police time on

I was talking about how he deserved to be in prison. I know about the beatings and the being suicidal. That part isn't deserved obviously. People love strawmanning and jumping to conclusions so they can act all offended though.

That's a nice argument you got there. Could you please do me a favor and look up "ad hominem" for me on Wikipedia? Then you can try again sweetie. :)

Don't joke about killing kids and expect to get out unscathed. He deserves it... he'll get out eventually. After he won't do it again.

Uuuugh, those scars...

I'm surprised how many people replied to this. I can't possibly reply to all of you because I'm a lazy bugger but it's good to see so many people paying attention to DLC and how it can potentially cripple games.

Well, you're asserting that they outnumber the rule, but I'm not so certain about that. I'm under the impression the opposite is true.

There's exceptions to every rule, but you didn't refute my point that it does incentivize developers to release incomplete games.

It's not a big problem if it's more expansion packy things with actual substance not planned at release. I just think of all that scummy day one DLC when I hear the word though. I'd almost make a point to use the word DLC to only describe those trashy moneygrabs.

On the contrary, it does nothing more than incentivize developers to publish incomplete games because why settle for $60 when you can feed people bite sized $5 pieces of the original idea later and make even more money?
