Note that the top five are mostly hip-hop or rap/rock - definitely not punk. But curiously, Papa Roach also falls in that category... obviously some skeletons there =’)

I’ve seen people say that Assassins might also be a thing - considering how Bows, Fists, and Traps could play rather well together, I wouldn’t mind seeing the Rogue again.

Could’ve been Tal Blevins, who now heads up UploadVR?

Crisis Core was really wonderful. I didn’t get too far in Dirge, but I’m actually sad that he’s probably going to be absent from the remake, as he is the main villain still alive at the end of the compilation.

Sharing assets and tech across teams can be a massive headache, as technology changes every year and naturally, whenever you fix one bug another dozen bugs can magically pop up. Multiply this by the hundreds of programmers working on a given game, then multiply that by the three COD studios and you’d have a severely

Getting the Zodiac Spear early was one of the game’s fun somewhat-hidden secrets/cheeses, though. Are you still able to do that or are you locked out of the dungeon until you’re the proper level for it?

It drastically changes after chapter 7, but most people tend not to like those changes... I personally enjoyed the later chapters for the bold and chaotic twists and turns, but I think they could’ve been expanded a lot more.

I still have the original guides for VII, VIII, and X (as well as some other classics, including a sadly very trashed OOT guide). Glad to see they’re doing a remaster even if it’s just to milk some money from people who don’t have the originals. Might pick it later on if it goes down in price just to see what the FFIX

Record of Agarest War is supposed to be great. No idea if I’ll ever get around to playing it since it’s on PS3, but grabbed it anyways in the hope that someday Sony decides to be nice and start mimicking Xbox.

Thank you for this article. I feel like some of us gamers need a min/max anonymous club or something. The guilt is way too strong.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is another great one if you’re a fan of FF mobile titles. It’s got a bit more variety than FFRK but also asks for a bit more input - also, the gatcha mechanic is character-based instead of weapon-based.

My biggest issue is that there’s too much overlap between the lists. Witcher 3 is a top game on PC/Ps4/Xbox One. I have access to all 3 systems. Basically, it becomes a wasted listing on two of those lists, since I’m only ever going to buy a game for one platform. At least it offers some minor performance comparisons

Amazing article, I’m sad I didn’t see it until now. I always tell people “football is a remarkable strategy game, from a game design perspective“

Anyone have a clip of the “pull over now” voice?

He started a charity foundation for nature conservation that’s been around since 1998. I know this is a parody post but sheesh, do some homework! :)

Some classic manuals that I still remember are from the original Diablo and of course, Final Fantasy 7 (AFAIR, all FF games had great manuals in the 90s). The artwork in the Diablo manual was awesome, as was all the lore. Final Fantasy mostly added some extra details about the characters, but it was still nice for

You’re right to be cautious. ^.^ I’m doing a new playthrough of Dark Cloud on Ps4. 15 years later and the game still holds up. It’d be great to see something that can pull off the same feel.

I thoroughly enjoyed the leveling system once I figured it out - as others have said, apparently it was used again in the SaGa series and much later on in Elder Scrolls. It was fun to see the small improvements and things established from FFI to FFII, but otherwise the battle system is the only thing I can recall.

I don’t think I’d necessarily go with your advice about if “they don’t seem to have any experience” because then indie developers would never succeed. There’s plenty of people who have never made a game that just need a bit of money in tide them over and allow them to dedicate more time to making it. Some of my

The year. Dissidia 013 and 012. The "japanese" are counting backwards.
