Ummmm... Motorcycles require registration, plates, and insurance...

Something I’ve said since the 2008 recession is: People will gravitate toward the largest vehicle they can justify owning. The limitation will probably vary from person to person, whether it’s MSRP, fuel cost, convenience of parking/driving, ability to fit it in their garage, etc.

#1: just read the articles. People adjust to having that much torque and they tend to get up to speed faster. Once you’ve driven a faster car, going back will feel slow. That’s a behavior adjustment that you made without realizing. Also, the cars ARE heavier. The cars ARE more expensive to repair after sustaining

I’m apparently your wife, lol.

The vehicle size is not the problem, it is the bad driver and lack of training.

Maintenance on an EV is virtually nonexistent.

It’s so hard to say if I would go for the Leaf or Bolt. They are good cars for what I expect out of them, but they’re both outdated and flawed in ways that could be solved through another update. The EV world is moving at a very fast pace. The Leaf needs an entirely new battery and charging system, The Bolt is pretty

I don’t get this…The commuter car is the one you drive most. That’s where you splurge. If you “need” a car with more than a 270 mile range for the rare road trip, why spend more than the minimum there?

Your comment makes zero sense. Z71 packages on midsize SUV’s are not killing anyone. If you want to advocate for something, advocate for Distracted Driving to be punished with the same Vigor as Drunk Driving.

Huh? Florida has sales tax. We don’t have property taxes, except home/business owners. I’ve always found Florida to be one of the cheapest states to register a vehicle.

I currently don’t own a car (only motorcycle). When I need a car for long trips, I rent. It’s likely what I would do if I owned an EV.

I took a road trip with a gas car recently and it was a pain compared to my EV. Autopilot makes long highway trips much less difficult and annoying. I couldn’t imagine not having an EV. And charging with the supercharger network is fast and easy. It works all the time. Stopping for gas was actually more difficult

yes

The legacy carmakers are going to have their lunch eaten by the Chinese if they don’t get their act together.

Part of that is just because California requires that 10/150 warranty on batteries…. I’d be curious as to how they perform beyond that tho.

Well, to start, I do a lot of road trips throughout the year that are > 700mi in each direction. Technically, I would need 460mi of range just to get from where I am to the closest state line.

This is a tough one to predict. Technically, this is a symptom that all Hybrids would experience, since hybrids are designed to go from 0-100% multiple times throughout the day. mHEVs go from 0-100% practically at every red light.

Just gotta let it cool down if you have been driving.

sell 2 non-stop tickets to 2 different people for quite a bit more than one layover ticket.

I like the front. Bold, different, and right.
