...and here I thought Florida was America’s DMV.

Second, in the four years since the Cybertruck was announced, we’ve seen almost a dozen vehicles make it to market - we have solid offerings from Ford, Chevy, GMC, RAM, Hummer and Rivian. And there are a handful of others in low volume production or soon to arrive.

Every part fails eventually, even a metal frame, and especially anything that moves. I used to work in aerospace and every component would be tested to determine its lifespan, often times down to the metallurgic properties.

....or rich enough.

With my full EV, I only have to plug in once a week. Maybe once every two weeks. With a PHEV, I’d have to plug in much more frequently, making it a hassle (for me) due to my less than stellar access to a plug.

Maybe you should stop being so internet-brained and find something else to do. I’m perfectly happy with the amount of freedom and access I have with my own personal transportation pod.

Well, I’ve been on Jalopnik/Giz since long before the Hulk Hogan and Gawker incident.

If you want to go by the textbook definition of “consumable” (non-durable) vs “durable,” consumable goods are ones that generally have a lifespan of 3 years or less. EV batteries have a much longer lifespan than 3 years, so they are defined as durable, much like the engine, transmission, subframe, etc... in a typical

In a previous reply you said to have been looking for 3 years.

Every safety regulation is written in blood, they were the sacrifice.

Adding one more thought, bike lanes, ON the roadway are nothing more than a compliance solution. I don’t see how the country suddenly decided to put bikes on the same path as motor vehicles, especially when there seems to be a mutual hatred towards one-another.

WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT???? Ohmygod that is insane and I can 100% understand why you’ve given up on your city government

Or maybe we just ban cars from roadways? Commercial vehicles and public transport only. then let people walk and bike freely while punishing accidents for what they actually are: attempted manslaughter.

what people are comfortable with and what is actually safe are two separate things. People are also stupid so really what needs to happen is higher ticket enforcement for speeding and more severe punishments.

But, we don’t make laws based on “well, some assholes are gonna ignore it anyway so why bother.”

What I don’t understand is why you are claiming to want that, but when people (including yourself?) show that it’s available today, you move the goal posts.

As much as I agree with the posts about how we should start sentencing these Bank CEOs to prison, fine them 10X what they stole, or straight up chop off their heads, my position in all this:

He always made sure the cars and SUVs he nabbed were more than eight years old so he wouldn’t have to provide the Long Island junkyard he towed them to with the vehicle’s title when selling it for scrap,

I’m inclined to agree with the article (can’t argue with facts), but my intuition already tells me that it’s probably a bad idea to raise speed limits on “Busy Urban Corridors,” anyway.

Thanks for the input. I was aware of the thermal management problems (fast charging), but I didn’t realize that would also affect the regenerative braking...which makes sense, regen puts a lot of load back into the battery.
