I do have to laugh as I see a lot of fleet companies switch from Frontier/Colorado/Tacoma trucks to Mavericks and Rangers.

Layoffs at a major active service platform never work out for the better. I get the necessity, but it should be done with a scalpel, not a cleaver. Just look at Twitter.

Corporate employees.

Right, but in the case of Analysis Paralysis it really comes down to 1 thing: Is it a good value?

So, all I am going to say to all of that is that your use case is atypical. Most people don’t drive 24 hours at a time on road trips. It’s unsafe, and people with any common sense know it. They build in a hotel stop along the way and divide the trip into two days, and during that hotel stop you could charge your car.

“Prices rise like a rocket and fall like a feather.”

Very, very common. We call them Toppers.

I’m an Engineer, myself, and I can relate to the concept of getting stuck on that ‘wait and see’ train.

Isn’t the Bolt superior to these on paper?

Death is not unique to these kinds of challenges, and it falls more along the lines of the platform allowing this sort of content to come through (let alone the psychopaths that post it for kids/teens to watch).  The problem is exposure.

What is wrong exactly with 14yo kid hunting if it is under supervision of adults?

At 13, or even 10, I don’t see myself suddenly ingesting medicine or tide pods because someone told me to.  But maybe I’m special, I remember being around 4 years old in PreK. A prong had broken off in the plug socket. A group of boys, including myself all surrounded it, somewhat knowing the danger, but not caring.

It does help spread the word and make these challenges go viral, being attempted many, many times per posting of each challenge, from silly to dangerous.

I’ve seen a lot of YouTube shorts where the repo guy gets the driver out of the car and begins to pull away with the kids still inside. I think more people would be ‘cool’ about the situation (as cool as you can be) if it wasn’t also based on the fact that people keep a lot of important and personal stuff inside their

“The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn’t work and then they get elected and prove it.” —P. J. O’Rourke, “Parliament of Whores” (1991)

It’s still a car I love, but it’s still a car I probably would buy at $55k, and especially not without a standard transmission.  That was always my hold out.

Another deal breaker for me. When I make long road trips, I get plenty of sleep the day before and I like to drive between the hours of 8pm and 8am (leaving based on the time I want to arrive).

Your issue is that you are trying to equate BEVs to ICE without taking into account actual use cases.

What do Pigs, Cows, and Chickens have in common? They’ll never go extinct.

I don’t agree. I had a huge issue when phones started getting thinner. I’ve always wanted a longer battery life that can do 2 days.
