I honestly don’t know if there’s any medical evidence for recent, not-fully-healed calf injury increasing risk of achilles injury - but even if there isn’t, in my view the catastrophic nature of an achilles injury, and its obvious connection to the calf muscle, means it’s something the doctor absolutely should discuss…

If the doctor didn’t feel that the calf injury made it more likely to injury the Achilles then there would be no reason for him/her to bring it up

So it’s not that the doctors actually “ruled out” an Achilles injury, just that it was never mentioned at all one way or another - in the same way that they didn’t discuss the odds of a stroke or dislocated shoulder.

You have the chronology backward - he punted to Myers Monday night (when it was all new and they hadn’t had a chance to circle any wagons yet); it was today that he made the “damn right” statement.
