I think what makes people not care about the Nepo Baby thing in Hollywood is not only if they’re chill about it, but if they’re also genuinely talented. And while I have no academic research to back this upcoming claim (...yet), it feels like the Hollywood Nepo Babies that are actually talented usually ARE the ones

With most other nepo baby actors, I would dismiss this out of hand as a slightly more sophisticated PR tactic...

Like any anthology series, it had its hits and misses. I liked the zombie episode and the Dark Strange episodes because they were such downers. Not a fan of their necessity to “team up” like the Avengers for everything like what how they formed a multidimensional team to stop Ultron at the end of the first season.

I will never not love him just for being the world’s biggest doofus, Bradward Boimler.

Ha, Derry Girls prepared me for a show about teenagers with actors in their 30s. Frankly I might prefer that. At least I am not contributing to the exploitation of child stars

I remember loving “What If...The Fantastic Four All Got The Same Power?!” because it was four stories in one and they were all super unique. IIRC they all get invisibility and it leads to Sue and Reed divorcing, etc.

Yep!  I got 3 free months to watch Silo, Ted Lasso, Severance, etc... last year because I got a new iPhone. I only have a work phone so I don’t actually have a plan, but work paying for my phone for over a decade makes it more than worthwhile.

It just boils down to what do I expect/want out of these movies. I mean, “just fine” is really a good level of expectation from an entertainment experience. I’ve also found most of the TV (except Secret Invasion) to be fun and a decent way to spend 45 min a week.

I think we also retroactively look at the pre-Endgame

I’ll believe her when I (don’t) see her.  I feel like very few celebrities who announce they’re quitting actually follow through.  The ones who quit just... you know, quit and fade away.

I think the problem with What If is that they’re so devoted to making it all based on the MCU (like what if T’Challa got taken in Guardians of the Galaxy back in season 1) and making characters look like the real live actors, it makes everything suffer worse for it. What If, more than any other comic series, is an

She’s going to host a goodbye party for Ellen that Ellen will later deny being invited to.

I mean, if she’s tired of hearing people say bad things about her (no matter how justified they may be), she’s 66 and has “fuck you” money. So why not just go be a regular, old, retiree?

I didn’t hate the first season and thought it was fun to have some continuity there, and I thought What If was actually more of an interesting introduction to the multiverse than even Loki, etc.

But then they kept DOING THAT and we just didn’t get the usual comics CRAZY WHAT IF SHIT that I remember from my childhood,

Hopefully this does well so we can get the sequel, We Live In A World.

While I also share your distaste of the sheer quantity of fan service in the middle act, I do love that Raimi proceeds to have Wanda gruesomely kill each of them and presumably (after the cast announcement of F4) put most of them in the MCU grave for good.

I wish my blips made $955 million dollars.

I found a shirt with the word Jupiter’s followed by a picture of a rooster. So naturally I had to buy it.

It’s kind of a hot mess, but it was fun, and definitely Sam Raimi flavored. (What other director could have gotten away with including Zombie Strange?)

What blip? That movie fucking rocked. Fuck off.

you can say what you will about dr strange 2, but it made a lot of money. happy to see disney throwing him a bone here.
