STOP buying the largest boxes! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve shown up to help friends and they packed their entire bookshelf into one huge box that now weighs over 100 pounds. Get medium sized and smaller boxes. Preferably all one size. Makes it easier to load and stack them in your truck.

I believe the reasoning is that the different sizes will allow space between them for water flow. If you have big plates up against each other, they could block the water, but spacing them out with small plates allows the water to get through.
