This exactly. Why not offer it in UHD like HBO / Max did with The Last of Us? Sorry no reason to buy it on physical media if you’re not gonna offer it in the native format you released it in.

I mean that’s fine - if we can get some more real IMAX screens. The IMAX at AMC stuff doesn’t count. I do plan on seeing Dune Part 2 on an IMAX. Heck maybe even more 70mm IMAX screens since they are few and far between.
Bias lighting is great for people who don’t have OLED TVs, but all the “interactive” ones all kind of suck. The idea seems great, but it lags in action, and it doesn’t really ADD to the experience. I’m glad that this is cheaper than the Philips version, but some 6500k constant leds will be cheaper, less distracting,…
I would hope that at the age of 45 someone would be over the pettiness of dragging their ex in public, and people cheering that behavior on, but here we are.
If we’re including books, the bunkers from Hugh Howey’s Silo series are pretty awful.
brave words to tempt fate like that! :p
Thank you! I just noticed that it’s in the last paragraph that I didn’t see, perhaps because it’s right under the newsletter subscription box.
I agree about being lied to by the standards associations and the member manufacturers, but I also don’t think I’m missing anything by not having the additional bandwidth required for features my TV isn’t even capable of using in the first place.
Do you really need the full 48Gbps on a current TV though? There aren’t a ton of 12 bit displays out there, let alone content that would take advantage of it at 120fps. The other use cases are for resolutions well in excess of 4k.
No it absolutely was not.
He got ungreyed by being right.
Nope. I don’t care who did it. I only care that they DID do it.
Blaine is a pain, and that is the truth.
It’s not a lake.
Step 1: Douse yard in gasoline.
I mean, I don’t disagree, personally I’m BEGGING for someone to make a ~43"-ish 21:9 monitor for my desk, but that’s for computers, I don’t wanna console game on a tiny screen, the entire point of a console is so you can kick back and casually game on the big screen lol.
Hmm, higher resolution but switching away from OLED? I would be more on board if they kept the premium screens to justify the premium price - especially if they’re trying to sell “the best VR experience you can buy”.
I’ll have to find a way to try them out. My biggest complaint with Q2 is also going down from OLEDs…
I noticed that and thought, even if someone just gave me one of these I’m not sure I’d want to deal with it.
It’s reasonable to criticize Sony for not being able to meet demand for their new console; that’s an issue that tech companies, especially console manufacturers, seem to constantly struggle with. But it does strike me as somewhat entitled to suggest that gamers in China shouldn’t be able to buy a PS5 before everyone…
ok that is fair. however, my xbox is still capable of turning on/off my tv and audio receiver and switching inputs automatically. i do not know if PCs do that.
